The traditional media unit used to have advantages on resource of occupying channels,but in the omnimedia era,these advantages have been faded away.The competition between traditional media and new media is getting fiercer and fiercer.More and more talentsget away from traditional media.In order to be appeal to more talents to stay and serve the organization,it is necessary to form an incentive system for the traditional media organization.This thesis,based on some related theories performance management,taking the Rural Channel of one provincial TV station as the research object,through the on-site interviews and questionnaire survey within the personnel of this channel,referring to some excellent similar cases at home and abroad,analyses the current situation of performance management of the Rural Channel and finds out some problems in each link of the the Rural Channel’s performance management system.These problems are mainly including the incomplete system of the performance management and the weakness on some links of the system;the indicators for performance appraisal are too general and simple;the unsound and inflexible reward and punishment mechanism leading to weak market competitiveness;the long performance-appraisal system;the performance indicators can’t objectively reflect the achievement of performance goals.To solve these problems,this article,based on the original evaluation system of the Channel,mainly using the method of KPI,(Key Performance Indicators),will try to design and establish a set of suitable performance management regulations for this channel,expecting to optimize its employee performance management system and solve the problems that may appear in the process of performance management,so as to improve the employees’ work enthusiasm,by creating more value to promote the channel on enhancing its competitiveness in the competition of media convergence,which will finally empower the sustainable development of Rural Channel of this provincial TV station.
