The Third Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee considered and adopted the Decision of the CPC Central Committee on Several Major Issues on Adhering to and Improving the Socialist System with Chinese Characteristics and Promoting the Modernization of the State Governance System and Governance Capability, and the process of promoting the modernization of the state governance system and governance capability. This is the most important issue facing the Chinese journalism industry.Constructive journalism challenges the classical concept of objective journalism by focusing on the positive psychology of "studying the positive qualities of human beings and enhancing human happiness".The "disease focus model" of traditional journalism violates the social expectation of journalism to "seek the truth and portray the real world truthfully and accurately," and the media's pathological version of the world leaves the public immersed in frustration of powerlessness. With the establishment and improvement of China's socialist market economy system, journalists have gradually weakened their role as "propagandists" and "advocates" and moved toward the "outsider" and "spectator" roles advocated by Western professionalism. The transformation of journalists into "outsiders" and "onlookers" advocated by Western professionalism. On the one hand, this has awakened the great potential of journalism;but on the other hand,China's journalism industry has made a fundamentalist mistake in the process of learning Western objective journalism theory, which is manifested in the rigid application of Western journalism and communication theory, eventually leading to the dilemma of "news is not like news, propaganda is not like propaganda".This paper uses chronology as a guide to sort out and summarize the role of journalists in China. The role of journalists in the Internet era faces the double contradiction between social expectations and self-positioning,and the journalist profession has profound problems such as role alienation, role confusion, and role degradation.Constructive journalism is an effective way to solve the dilemma of journalists' role perception. It advocates journalists to report professionally with a positive and healthy reporting strategy and the ultimate goal of seeking people's happiness, and to use the gesture of "entering" to trigger the public's benign interaction and brainstorm ways to solve problems. At the same time, the development of journalists' professional role in China is very different from the Western model, and constructive journalism as an imported product should have Chinese characteristics.Constructive journalism creatively introduces the purpose of "participation" into the role of journalists. In fact,"active participation in revolution and construction" is the fundamental requirement and good expectation of journalists under the Marxist view of journalism. In the process of reconstructing their professional role, journalists should adhere to the principle of party spirit, let the Marxist view of journalism become the color of their work, and correctly handle the relationship between constructiveness and objectivity with intervention,so as to ultimately empower the people, gather public opinion and resolve social crises. From "propaganda" and "advocacy" to "watch" and "spectator",the professional outlook of Chinese journalists has In the face of the changing and treacherous modern journalism, the role of journalists from "outsiders" to "solvers" has been transformed for the whole society to wait and see.
