The development of the western press is rooted in the rise of the liberal trend of thought.Many other names,such as social "watchdog",government "watchdog" and news "gatekeeper",have made the fourth rank of journalists the uncrowned king.Liberalism theory is inherently entwined with the competition of multiple forces such as government,market and society.Under the operation mode of privatization and commercialization,the purpose of attracting people's attention has become an important "fuse" for the debunking reports and the flourishing of negative news."Constructive journalism",which originated in Europe,is another criticism of western traditional journalism theory and value orientation in specific work after the theory of social responsibility.Marxist view of journalism is an important theoretical resource to guide the development of China's journalism.In the period of revolution and construction,the Communist Party of China has never neglected the pivotal position of news activities in the whole socialist cause,and "constructiveness" has always been emphasized in China's journalism from the revolutionary era to the construction period.However,for a long time,China's news organizations have relied too much on political power to demonstrate their professional status,and carried out news work by administrative means,making it difficult to achieve reflective self-regulation.Viewing "constructive journalism" from the macro level,on the one hand,there is no doubt that it is objectively coupled with the "constructive" advocated by China's journalism,and more importantly,it encourages journalists to be "active journalists" in their specific work to inspire the innovative development of China's journalism and communication theory and practice.To do the work of news public opinion well in the new era,the first thing is to clarify the subject status of journalists.We advocate the construction of a "participant" as a combination of "advocate" and "spectator".On the one hand,we should absorb the reasonable connotation of "active journalist" under the framework of positive freedom advocated by "constructive journalism".On the other hand,we should also pay attention to avoid the free and loose journalism under the guidance of western liberalism theory,or even stray from the central work of socialist construction,and take the construction and development of socialist cause as the primary goal under the guidance of the ideology,politics and organizational line of the Party.Since the Yan 'an period,the theoretical system of the traditional Party newspaper formed in the revolution and early construction stage has emphasized the guiding position of the Party,which has been continued to this day.Firming the leadership of the Party is the premise of the vigorous development of the journalism.On the occasion of the rise of "constructive news",the traditional party newspaper theory of our country is reviewed,among which "militancy" and "mass nature" are also theoretical resources worthy of our in-depth investigation and redevelopment.To criticize for the sake of criticism and to expose for the sake of disclosure has become a common problem in the western press.However,from the perspective of promoting social development,supervision and criticism of the society is the consistent insistence of the Party led journalism.We advocate "constructive criticism" and oppose "destructive criticism",which is the contemporary interpretation of the concept of "militancy" in the new era.Different from the western view of audience dominated by market logic,the news work of the Communist Party of China has always emphasized the power of the people,but fundamentally it is rooted in the continuous revolution,construction and reform.The mass character and the people character are the core value in the current concrete news practice,and adhering to the "mass principle" in the digital media environment is the profound practice of Marxist news view.We open the western "constructive news" this big screen,in order to start the process of re-digging the rational core of the traditional party newspaper theory.Under the guidance of Marxist news concept with party spirit as the core,it should strengthen the professional identity cognition of "participants",highlight the realistic connotation of "militancy" and "mass nature" in the new era,advocate constructive criticism and adhere to the principle of mass nature.Based on China's special national conditions and through the prism of western news ideas,this paper makes a difficult exploration for the development of China's news theory and practice in the new era.
