A Comparative Study On The Reporting Frameworks Of Public Health Emergencies Between People's Daily And Beijing News

With the deepening of globalization,the impact of public health emergencies is becoming more and more significant,causing countless economic losses and human casualties.In the process of combating public health emergencies,the media plays a very important role.The media is the bridge of information flow.Timely media reports can not only let the public know the seriousness of the event and master the prevention and control strategies,but also stabilize people's minds and social order.In the face of public health emergencies,how to construct the reporting framework of the media is a problem worth pondering.The author read the literature on public health emergencies,combined with the current research and analysis,took the electronic newspapers of People's Daily and Beijing News as the research objects,carefully collected the reports on COVID-19 of the two newspapers from December 30,2019 solstice to September 8,2020,and took 2,357 reports as the research samples.Using text analysis and comparison analysis,based on the theory of framework,from the People's Daily and the theme of the Beijing news reported COVID-19 framework,content,sources,report way and report the tone five Angle on the sample description,comparison,the People's Daily and the Beijing news reported COVID-19 framework of similarities,This paper analyzes the differences between the two COVID-19 reporting frameworks,summarizes the characteristics of the two COVID-19 reporting frameworks,reflects on the shortcomings of People's Daily and Beijing News in constructing the reporting frameworks of public health emergencies,and puts forward suggestions for optimizing the reporting frameworks of public health emergencies.This paper consists of four parts.The first part is introduction,in this chapter,first of all,the paper research background,theoretical significance and practical significance is described,then the frame theory,a public health emergency and COVID-19 report to carry on the literature review,finally introduced the research object,metasomatism research samples and sampling time,and the research methods in this paper.The second part is the sample description of the reports of People's Daily and Beijing News COVID-19.Based on 2,357 reports,the distribution and proportion of the thematic framework,keynote,content,source and genre of the two reports are statistically analyzed.The third part is to summarize the similarities,differences and characteristics of the COVID-19 reporting framework between People's Daily and Beijing News based on data analysis.Two newspapers reports of COVID-19 framework similarities mainly reflects in the theme framework,sources,genre and report tone four aspects,both in the report on the construction of theme is given priority to with "framework" of government image,will focus on "government officials" as the source,the "news" reported as a genre,is given priority to with positive reports.The differences between the two reporting frames are mainly reflected in three aspects: compared with People's Daily,The Beijing News attaches more importance to the "human interest frame",which is closely related to its positioning as a city newspaper;The Beijing News has more sources than the People's Daily.Its sources include not only government officials,people on the front lines of fighting the epidemic,foreign governments and international organizations,experts and scholars,but also taxi drivers,college students,public welfare advocates,staff members,teachers,civil servants,legal workers,psychologists and volunteers.Although the People's Daily and the Beijing news reported negative proportion is not large,but there is a difference in the content of the negative reports,the People's Daily,the negative report is mainly about the international development trend of the outbreak,negative reports mainly for foreign SARS epidemic,the outbreak of the negative impact of the international community,the negative resistance to disease.The Beijing News not only reported the epidemic situation abroad,but also reported the grim trend of the epidemic at home,the sacrifice of anti-epidemic personnel,the officials who did not fight the epidemic,and the unreasonable measures taken to prevent it.The reporting framework of People's Daily is characterized by integration and guidance.It integrates and reports anti-epidemic information from all over the country,and gives different guidance to the audience according to different anti-epidemic periods.The specific embodiment,the Beijing news reports framework for supervision and market pay equal attention to,the Beijing news more than the second edition of the relevant measures for the media and audience against epidemic diseases,policy evaluation,fully embodies the function of the supervision of the media,in addition,the Beijing news reports framework is influenced by the market,to adjust the report content to follow the current hot spots,such as the college entrance examination in July 2020,is China's,In addition,China was hit by floods in that month.During this period,the number of COVID-19 reports on the front page and other pages of Beijing News decreased significantly,and the news topics were mostly about the college entrance examination and flood prevention and relief.The fourth part is to reflect on the reporting framework of public health emergencies of People's Daily and Beijing News,and put forward suggestions for optimization.
