After nearly 20 years of development,China's competitive reality show has entered a period of rapid expansion."2019 Tencent Entertainment White Paper" shows that among the top ten domestic variety shows in 2019,five are reality shows.In recent years,the domestic competitive reality show has seen a trend of changing the theme from popularization to niche and specialization.The typical ones include "The Rap of China" and “Street Dance of China”.After the launch of these niche cultural competitive reality shows,they have aroused widespread concern and maintained a high level of popularity.So,in what ways does the niche cultural competitive reality show compare to traditional competitive reality shows in terms of inheriting the general characteristics of competitive reality shows? In what ways has it made a breakthrough? What is the trend significance of this breakthrough for the further development of competitive reality show?In order to answer the above questions,this article takes the genre research method as the main method,through the "Hip Hop in China" and "This!
