In recent years,Guangxi Radio and television has actively participated in the major foreign publicity activities such as the "record China" communication project of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee,the "overseas media film supply project" of the Information Office of the State Council,and the "Silk Road film and television bridge" of the State Administration of radio,film and television,With ASEAN countries,we have launched a variety of cross-border joint Documentary Practice Activities and created a number of well-known documentary works.This paper takes the documentary CO-produced by Guangxi Radio and television and the mainstream media in Southeast Asia as the research object,and makes a narrative analysis of the two series(a total of six documentaries),namely "the story of time" and "home in the green mountains and waters",to explore how these films can reduce the cultural discount at the narrative level and achieve better communication effect.Specifically,this paper combs the definition,development history,communication function of Chinese and foreign co production documentary,as well as the actual situation of Guangxi Radio and television co production documentary with ASEAN countries.At present,the characteristics of Guangxi Radio and television co-producing documentaries with ASEAN countries are as follows: in the selection of shooting subjects,they focus on the common experience of people in different countries,and capture the changes brought about by policies to the lives of ordinary people.On the narrative level,it is committed to dialogue between different subjects,combining zero focus and cohesive focus from the narrative perspective,and using a variety of narrative structures to enrich the discourse expression of documentary.On the image level,rich screen language and lively three-dimensional auditory language are used to make the audience feel the different customs and characteristics of China and Southeast Asian countries.By visiting the international channel of Guangxi Radio and television and conducting in-depth interviews with Chinese and foreign documentary practitioners,it is found that there are still some problems in the documentary films CO-produced by Guangxi Radio and television and ASEAN countries.First of all,there are still some deficiencies in the narrative and shooting methods of the documentaries CO-produced by Guangxi Radio and television and ASEAN countries.Secondly,geopolitical factors affect the acceptance of overseas audiences.Finally,the CO-produced documentaries are facing the difficulties of single source of funds,relatively insufficient operation of new media and lack of long-term brand operation planning.In this paper,we should strengthen the top-level planning and expand the financing channels of Guangxi Radio and television.In the content creation of CO production documentaries,we should adhere to the principle of content as the king and realize empathy communication;In terms of communication channels,we should implement the "one country,one policy" precise communication,carry out the research on overseas audience’s audio-visual preferences,implement the brand marketing strategy,and cultivate a new talent team.
