In recent years,the social status of women has been continuously improved,and the self-consciousness of women has gradually awakened.The media market has already noticed the importance of women as consumers and audiences.Therefore,in order to attract more audiences,many program producers have launched multiple variety shows highlighting female values,and constantly emphasized slogans of the programs such as"breaking shackles and getting rid of stereotypes",thus triggering empathy from more audiences.Youth With You Season 2 was produced in such a background,the positioning of this program is "not to define oneself",and aims to show a diverse range of female images and values.All along,the female image in the media has been a hot research.The theoretical significance of this study is that most of the current research on media and female images is focused on the research level of news,advertisements,TV dramas,movies,etc.There are not many studies on female variety shows.Therefore,this study hopes to analyze the construction and deconstruction of female images in female variety shows,in order to deeply explore the ideology behind it,and enrich the issues of media and female research.On the one hand,Female Variety Show will affect women's perceptions of themselves,and on the other hand,they will also shape the overall society's view of female values.The construction and presentation of the image of women by the media not only regulates the image of women,but also constructs the status of women in society,which will have subtle discipline and influence on female audiences.Therefore,the study of female images in female variety shows is of great practical significance.This study selected all 24 episodes of Youth With You Season 2 from March 12,2020 to June 6,2020,as the research sample.This study uses content analysis and text analysis to analyze the female image presented in the program.Based on Zang Guoren's three-tier frame theory,this paper analyzes the high-level,middle-level,and low-level frames of the program,and studies the female images in the program from the macro and micro levels.This study uses quantitative research methods to count the external and internal images of the 109 girls in the program,and also uses the text analysis method to summarize and analyze the female values presented in the program.The content of this article can be divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction.The author sorts out the background,significance and methods of the research,summarizes previous studies,and explains the theoretical basis used in the research.The second part is the main part of the research.In this part,the author analyzes the female images presented and constructed in the program from different levels.The study analyzes the high-level,middle-level and low-level frameworks of the program based on Zang Guoren's three-tier framework theory.The third part is also very important.This part provides an in-depth interpretation of the women presented in the show.The author believes that on the surface,the program has constructed a diverse range of female images and values,which is a subversion and challenge to the traditional gender culture.But at the same time,the show has created new stereotypes.The presentation of diverse female images is only superficial.In the fact,the women in the show are still affected by potential gender awareness and the gaze of fans.The fourth part is the summary and thinking part.In this part,the author analyzes the factors that influence the program's construction of female images.These factors include:the awakening of female self-awareness and the influence of traditional gender culture;the commercialization of media and the commercial demands in a consumer society.The research shows that this program does indeed construct and present a diverse group of women.In the program,we can see the individualization and diversification of aesthetics.Female groups have begun to gradually break the catering to male aesthetics.They no longer blindly compromise on the female aesthetic standards of social discipline.They begin to subvert the stereotyped and modelized standards.In addition,the program also constructed and presented a diversified female inner image and female values,and criticized traditional gender stereotypes.These all reflect the improvement of women's living conditions in the new era and the awakening of women's self-awareness.But this presentation is only superficial.From a deeper level,the aesthetic environment dominated by the patriarchal society and the interests in the market make the construction of a diversified female image still facing great difficulties.When the program constructs the image of women,it will still be affected by various factors:such as the deep-rooted traditional patriarchal thinking and traditional gender culture,the market's influence on the media,and so on.The audience seems to be watching a brand new program that promotes female independence and diversity,but in fact they are still consuming those commercial settings that have been packaged by the market and media.Consumerism uses the media to influence the behavior of the audience,and the masses construct their own identities in accordance with the lifestyle shaped by consumer culture.In the commercial market,idols have become priced commodities,and many businesses have also discovered business opportunities to make money.Through idols and cultural products,many economic benefits can be obtained.In essence,this program did not fundamentally realize its original intention of undefined and unlimited".It takes a long process to change the female image in media.The political and economic system,social structure,traditional concepts,female consciousness,and social status will all have a huge impact on it.It is difficult to subvert the tradition just by relying on a variety show.Youth With You Season 2 will still be affected by traditional gender awareness and the media markets,this program can neither break female stereotypes nor promote the individual development of women.
