As a natural extension of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road,Latin America is an important and indispensable participant in the construction of the Belt and Road.As a major regional country,Argentina plays an important role in the construction of the Belt and Road.This article uses reports published on the official website of the Argentine publishing industry to collect data on the publishing situation and the publishing market in Argentina in recent years,combined with information on influential Argentine publishing institutions and related institutions and regulations,as well as numerous foreign documents,to sort out the current situation of publishing in Argentina and to study and analyse the overall development of publishing in Argentina.In terms of temporal structure,the paper analyses the Argentine publishing industry in detail along the logic of "past-present-future";in terms of spatial structure,the paper extends from the analysis of Argentine domestic publishing to its international publishing strategy.Finally,the paper explores how China can target the Argentine publishing market,adhering to the core of the "One Belt,One Road" idea,with a view to achieving a win-win model of cooperation between the two countries.In this process,the first part of the article is based on a historical perspective of book history,supplemented by an analysis of the socio-political and cultural context,and provides a detailed overview of the long history of publishing in Argentina and its relationship with the Spanish publishing industry since ancient timesOn this basis,the second part comes to the current situation of Argentine publishing in contemporary times,and examines the main features of the publishing industry in the country,the characteristics of the publishing industry,and the influential publishing institutions,while presenting the crisis and the risks and challenges faced by the publishing industry in Argentina,as well as the latest policy changes made by the state to adapt to the new economic and social environment.The third section analyses the current situation,strategies and practices of the external communication and internationalisation of publishing in Argentina,with a political,social and cultural focus.Lastly,the fourth part of the study identifies a potential and an opportunity for the Argentine publishing industry at the present time,based on the previous research,and proposes a future direction for the Argentine publishing industry in line with the national "One Belt,One Road" idea.In addition,it gives targeted suggestions on how China can expand the market of Latin American countries represented by Argentina.First,at the enterprise level,deepen the international business cooperation between Chinese and Spanish publishers,and jointly promote Chinese books in the Argentine market;second,at the publishing content level,do a good job of researching the reading habits of the Argentine market,and achieve precise dissemination in one country;third,at the language level,on the one hand,further promote the development of Confucius Institutes and Chinese language teaching in Argentina abroad,and on the other hand,build a perfect system for accepting international students at home.Finally,on the technical level,seize the opportunity to expand the Argentine digital publishing platform and strengthen support for the Sino-Argentine digital publishing industry.
