In the context of economic globalization and China's accession to the WTO, the publishing industry in China, like other industries had been involved in this powerful current. This paper took the development of Chinese publishing industry as the main research focus, and through introducing the concept of economic development theory and the industry life cycle, the paper discussed the development model for Chinese publishing industry. The paper gave analysis in different chapters on the development model for foreign and domestic publishing industries, and provided illustration on their future development direction. Through this study, the author hoped to make certain contribution to the research of Chinese publishing industry, and provided valuable reference for the development direction of regional publishing industry.The study believed that there are also industrial life cycle for Chinese publishing industry, and because of the imbalance regional economic development in China, the publishing industry in different regions showed different developmental stage of the industry life cycle. Through analysis of the development characteristics in different stages of industry life cycle, the paper hoped to build a dynamic industrial development model for Chinese book publishing industry and provided reference for the development of this industry in China.The full text of this paper divided into five parts: the first part introduced the research background of Chinese book publishing industry development model, reviewed the current research situation of book publishing industries at home and abroad, and established the research ideas and frameworks of this paper. The second part explored the publishing industry development model theory, and introduced related concepts of industrial development model. The third part made a comparative study of the book publishing industry development models of world's major countries and regions, and pointed out that there are difference existed between the extroversion development model represented by the United States and the introversion development model represented by Japan in the areas of development path and development characteristics. Part 4 developed a dynamic development model system for the book publishing industry in China, and explained the features, conditions and problems existed in different developmental stages of book publishing industry. Part 5 mainly discussed current conditions of book publishing industry in China, and took Liaoning regional publishing industries as examples and gave empirical analysis on them.
