The Chinese News Awards is the highest national comprehensive annual award for outstanding journalism sponsored by the All-China Journalists Association, which was approved by the Publicity Department in 1991 on a permanent basis.Since the Chinese News Awards for International Communication was established in 2010,it has been tasked with spreading China's voice and telling China's story during this decade of exploration. The Pulitzer Prize was established in 1917 according to the last wish of American newspaper tycoon Joseph Pulitzer. With the strong comprehensive national power and news radiation ability of the United States, the Pulitzer Prize has become a "benchmark" and "beacon" in the industry after a century of continuous development and improvement.Since its first award in 1948,the International Reporting Awards has established a good Communication Credit system in the world and has become a representative and a symbol of American journalism. Both the International Communication Award of the Chinese News Awards and the Pulitzer Prize represent the highest honor of the journalism industry of both countries in the field of international communication. Therefore, this paper analyzes the commonalities and differences between the winning works of Chinese News Awards for International Communication and the International Reporting Award of the Pulitzer Prizes in terms of themes, tendencies, narrative techniques, awarding institutions, news value, award settings, selection criteria, etc.Analyze the Communication Credits of the Chinese News Awards for International Communication and the Pulitzer Prize in International Reporting, and explain the reasons for the differences in Communication Credits between them.Finding ways and methods to use the platform of the Chinese News Award to build the Communication Credit of the China news industry,so as to tell the Chinese story better to the world.Since the establishment of the Chinese News Awards for International Communication in 2010,In total, there were 55 first-prize winning entries,In order to have consistency in time and space, this paper selects the first prize works of the Chinese News Awards for International Communication and the Pulitzer Prize in international reporting between 2010 and 2020 as the samples.A qualitative research method was used to summarize and analyze the differences in Communication Credit between the Chinese News Prize for international communication and the Pulitzer Prize in international reporting. On the whole,Chinese News Awards do not have high Communication Credit in the international arena. There are two main reasons for this:First, because of the limitations of cultural background, language and coverage topics, resulting in a low total exposure to the media and insufficient communication power of the Chinese news-oriented audience.Secondly, the low recognition of China's media role leads to the low recognition of Chinese News Awards and the lack of attention from abroad. In response to the above problems, this paper argues that if the Chinese News Awards want to tell the Chinese story and spread the Chinese voice on the international stage,it is necessary to build a Communication Credit that is unique to the Chinese News Awards. It is not only necessary to cultivate quality content, persistently adhere to journalistic professionalism, and pay attention to the excavation of news connotation and interpretation of news meaning. It is also necessary to rely on dialogue to build international identity and deliver information in a way that foreign audiences can understand and easily accept.
