Important changes have taken place in our country's library and social education during the period of the Republic of China.During this period,times changed,internal and external troubles,the old civilization and the new civilization continued to collide,the old feudal library system was under attack,and new libraries emerged one after another.At the same time,the trend of social education in this period continued to develop.Out of the needs of cultivating talents,innovating ideas,and saving society,various types of libraries have been established and become one of the social education institutions.Rural libraries are also established in the wave of national library establishment and social education thoughts,and continue to innovate and develop,becoming an important social institution for educating the people in rural areas and playing a social education function.The author of this article mainly adopts the methods of literature research and historical research,and analyzes the development of rural libraries and social education in the period of the Republic of China by investigating the related literature of rural libraries and their social education functions during the Republic of China;and from the epistemology of occurrence It examines the situation of cognition during the growth of the social education function of rural libraries in this period,analyzes the influencing factors of the social education function of rural libraries,and concludes that its development is inevitable and staged.By listing relevant historical materials,it analyzes the specific performance of the social education function of rural libraries in the Republic of China from the aspects of rules and regulations,affiliation,service items,educational content,and book collection,and summarizes the implementation of the social education function of rural libraries in the Republic of China..Finally,it summarizes the effectiveness,limitations and development experience of the development of the social education function of rural libraries in the Republic of China,and summarizes the deficiencies in the research of rural libraries and their social education in the Republic of China and the direction that needs to be worked hard in the future.
