Industrial agglomeration has always been a research hotspot.Scholars have studied it from different perspectives, analyzed the causes and effects of agglomeration, and made empirical research on different industries and regional levels, further enriching the theory. In the past, most of the researches are focused on the traditional manufacturing industry or service industry, while the researches on subdivision industry are less, and the researches on subdivision of high-tech industry are less. From the perspective of research level, scholars also study the agglomeration phenomenon at the provincial and municipal level, many of which are general researches at the national level. The paper focuses on the software industry and software park, which is a lower regional level. In addition,as a high-tech industry, software industry has the characteristics of light assets and heavy human capital, which is less limited by the natural resource environment, which are quite different from the traditional industry. In addition, with the development of communication technology, the trend of cross regional cooperation in software industry is more obvious.Considering these characteristics of software industry, does industrial agglomeration still have an impact on productivity? How does agglomeration affect productivity?Based on these research objectives, the paper first combs the literature of industrial agglomeration theory and software industry agglomeration, and points out the shortcomings of current research. Then it discusses the agglomeration effect and crowding effect of industrial agglomeration on productivity, and specifically analyzes these two effects for the software industry, and puts forward three research hypotheses according to the theoretical analysis, and then constructs three models to verify these hypotheses. The paper uses the data of 14 national software industry bases from 2007 to 2015,as well as the data of the city where the software park is located,to study the relationship between agglomeration and productivity. The Malmquist productivity index method based on input-oriented DEA is used to calculate TFP,and the concentration index method is used to measure the degree of industrial agglomeration. In addition, the labor productivity index and employment density index are measured as robustness tests. For the regression of the model, the paper mainly uses three methods: fixed effect regression, random effect regression and System GMM regression, and uses the improved intermediary effect test method and Sobel test to study the impact path of industrial agglomeration.Through the regression of the basic model and the dynamic panel model,it is found that the software industry cluster has a significant positive impact on its productivity. In addition, the paper also does the robustness test, and finds that the replacement productivity and agglomeration index and the change of regression method, the conclusion is still the same.Through the regression of non-linear model,it is found that the software industry cluster takes the lead in promoting production and then suppresses it,that is,thereis an inverted "U" relationship. When the level of industry cluster exceeds the critical point, the crowding effect caused by the cluster will exceed the cluster promoting effect, and then it will have a negative impact on productivity. Finally, the paper studies the mechanism of the impact of agglomeration on productivity.By examining the intermediary effect of management efficiency,it is found that software industry agglomeration affects productivity through the intermediary variable of management efficiency.Combined with theoretical analysis and research conclusions, the paper also puts forward corresponding policy suggestions on how to promote software industry agglomeration, how to deal with crowding effect, how to promote enterprise communication and how to promote knowledge spillover.Of course, there are some shortcomings in the paper, which are explained at the end of the article. |
