Research On The Influencing Factors Of The Value Of Open Access Journals

With the gradual increase in the popularity of the Internet,the concept of“sharing” has been accepted by the public and even become a fashionable lifestyle.Open access journals are the “golden path” of open access and the basic way of sharing scientific and technological resources.Open access journals not only increase the users' access to academic resources,but also promote academic exchanges and create unprecedented conditions for narrowing the digital divide.But along with this,the popularity of open access has brought challenges to users' information acquisition,screening,and utilization.Therefore,to explore the influencing factors of the value of open access journals provide researchers with a comprehensive evaluation basis for reading,referencing and publishing open access journals,has become the top priority of open access academic research.This article focuses on the value of the full life cycle of open access journals,introduces product life cycle theory,and uses exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling to analyze the influencing factors of open access value.First of all,according to the stages and subjects of the value reflection in the full life cycle of OA journals,determine the categories of influencing factors.Comprehensively investigate the factors that affect the full life cycle value of open access journals,and put forward the relationship assumptions between factors.Then,based on this,design questionnaires to investigate the views and attitudes of various subject groups involved in the process of generating value in journals.Secondly,combined with the life cycle and value analysis of open access journals,factor analysis and structural equation models are used to effectively identify the main influencing factors of the value of open access journals,in-depth analysis of the mechanism of influencing factors,and to explore the relationship between various influencing factors relationship.The analysis results show that the academic influence,openness,and literature quality of open access journals will have a direct positive impact on the value of open access journals.There is a correlation between journal management and openness factors,and both will have impact on journal carrier quality,academic influence,and social influence factors.Literature quality factors have a positive influence on social influence factors.Finally,based on the model results,this article puts forward the suggestion that the value evaluation of open access journals should pay attention to their openness and journal managementfactors.It emphasizes the necessity of establishing an open access journal full life cycle value evaluation index system,highlights the importance of social influence in the evaluation of open access journals,and the necessity of adding alternative measurement indexes to the evaluation system.Provide feasibility suggestions for the management,selection,use and value evaluation of open access journals,and promote the effective use of open access journals.
