Investigation And Research On The Subject Service Network Of "Double First-Class" University Libraries

"Double first-rate" construction strategy is another national strategy implemented in the field of higher education in China after "project 211" and "project 985".The central committee of the party and the State Council promulgated the important strategic decision of "double first-rate" construction in order to realize the strategic goal of developing China from a big country in higher education to a powerful country in higher education.The subject service provided by the university library has become an important hinge for the library to connect with the first-rate subject construction of the university under the background of the "double first-rate" construction strategy.The university library should re-examine the present situation of subject service,find out the problem and make improvement,so as to support subject construction deeply.This paper takes the subject service provided by the university library under the construction of "double first-rate" as the research object.By means of network survey,this paper investigates the current situation of subject service of 140 "double-first-rate" university libraries from four aspects,including subject service columns,subject librarians,subject service content and subject service platform,by investigating the library website.The survey results are displayed in groups according to the universities with world-class university construction and the universities with world-class discipline construction.Through the summary,statistics and analysis of the data and contents obtained from the survey,This paper summarizes the merits of the subject services provided by the university library under the "double first-rate" construction,including setting the subject service column as a secondary column and naming it "subject service" or "subject librarian" ?the subject service and related columns are introduced in detail?locate subject librarians in separate subject services or research support departments?the subject librarian is introduced in detail?providing a variety of paper writing and submission guide services and so on.The shortcomings mainly include low setting rate of subject service column,no introduction or simple introduction to subject librarians,low provision rate of paper writing and submission guide service and decision support service,low construction rate of subject service platform and insufficient follow-up update and maintenance,etc.Finally,according to the merits and shortcomings of the discovery,this paper summarizes five strategies of improving and perfecting the subject service of university library according to the construction strategy of "double first-rate".The first strategy is to improve the setting of subject service and related columns,including the reasonable setting of subject service and related columns,and the improvement of the introduction of subject service and related columns.The second strategy is to build a first-rate team of subject librarians,including improving the selection system of subject librarians,strengthening the training of subject librarians and optimizing the position and number of subject librarians.The third strategy is to deepen discipline service for first-rate disciplines,including changing discipline service concept and carrying out discipline service in a key and planned way.The fourth strategy is to build a first-rate discipline service platform,including planning the construction of discipline service platform,paying attention to the content quality of the discipline service platform,realizing the interactive function of the discipline service platform,ensuring the timely update and good maintenance of the discipline service platform,and vigorously promoting the discipline service platform.The fifth strategy is to establish the "double first-rate" university library subject service alliance,and university libraries participating in the alliance should conform to the characteristics of the same region or type.
