China ushered in the first year of VR in 2016 with the continuous progress of modern science and technology as well as the continuous development of VR technology.Through the combination of VR+ books,it breaks the traditional way of reading,which thus makes immersive reading gradually appear in the vision of the public.As an important way to spread scientific knowledge,popularize scientific culture and improve public scientific self-cultivation,popular science books have brought numerous excellent works.Due to the birth of new media technology,it brings new opportunities for the development of popular science books,in which VR technology is one of them.Besides,some publishing units in our country have issued VR+popular science books at present,which have also achieved some results.In terms of VR popular science books,it can make up for the limitations of traditional popular science books,which can also stimulate readers' interest in creation and exploration psychology through the combined advantages of interactive,immersive and multi-sensory experiences.Meanwhile,the birth of 5G technology and the way of cross-media dissemination enable VR popular science books to better utilize their own advantages,so as to improve the quality and efficiency of information dissemination.As a result,it can jointly disseminate the scientific spirit of popular science books,popularize scientific knowledge for the mass,and cultivate the scientific thinking of readers.In this paper,it discusses the birth of VR popular science books as one of the current development directions of popular science books through the analysis of the current development status and problems of popular science books,so as to analyze its development advantages and limitations,and study its future development possibilities.After that,it makes further analysis of the design methods of VR popular science books through the sense of story,interaction and immersion.Finally,it is to demonstrate the point of view of this paper through practice and application according to the design.
