Research And Application Of Popular Science Exhibition Based On Virtual Reality Technology

With both the development of social, economic and cultural, and the rapid progress of science and technology, the positive role of the modern public Science and Technology Museum is well considered by society, public Science and Technology Museum has been put on the agenda in many places.Since 1970s, the thinking of Science and Technology Museum construction is changing; increasingly prominent role is played by its educational function. Benefit from the development of computer graphics, virtual reality technology has become the main instruments in Science and Technology Museum popular science, which makes the form of popular science show the diversified, humane, lively characteristics. This paper is based on virtual manual exchange software in Shanxi Mobile science exhibition hall, the methods of developing virtual reality software is given in this paper. The software is based on visualization methods which in Virtools, VC and Flash, and achieves a satisfactory results.Firstly, this paper expounds the definition of popular science, and introduces it in many dimensions. Then this paper introduces the concept and characteristics of virtual reality meanwhile, summers up its significance in popular science education; Secondly, this paper makes a brief introduction of technology applied by this research, and a detailed introduction of the Virtools development platform and its development process; Thirdly, according to the characteristics of popular science, analysis and design is made in manual exchange virtual reality software, characteristics of the software development is also expounds. Based on this development method, this paper introduces the steps of realizing this software; Finally, a brief summary of the paper is made, future research and development direction is pointed out.
