In order to maintain the ecological balance of news and avoid too many negative news to cause audiences to avoid news,Western media set out to increase positive journalistic practices.Although China's media insists on mainly positive reporting, with the rise of social media,China's media have exposed their one-sided understanding and rigid implementation of positive reporting, and the audience's participation and sharing rate is low, which has not achieved the social effects they deserve. In order to draw lessons from the western media's Constructive Journalism practice,it is necessary to study and analyze how it works. This research analyzes the content of 122 video works in the BBC's column "People Fixing the World" from the following four aspects: report theme, solution source, presentation form, and narrative structure. The research found that most of the topics reported by the BBC were "residents' lives",and most of the solutions came from developed countries. The forms of expression were rich and varied, and innovative use of eye-catching subtitles assumed the role of main narrator. In the process of reporting the solution,a variety of introduction methods were adopted. The feasibility of the scheme is proved by data or the people involved.Through the analysis of the above four levels,it shows the BBC's practical exploration of the Constructive Journalism, and presents the theory of the Constructive Journalism how to guide the creation of short video works.
