Research And Implementation Of S Company Raw Material Inventory Management Based On JMI

In the face of the increasingly fierce international competition,manufacturers need to improve product quality,reduce production costs and decrease delivery cycle time to meet the diverse needs of the customers,that will enhance their competitiveness in the market.Inventory management,especially the raw material inventory management will be the key factor to strengthen the internal control for the manufacturers.Apart from ensuring the normal operation of enterprises,reasonable raw material inventory wastes less circulating fund,decreases enterprises' operating costs and responds rapidly to their customers' changing needs.The mobile phone screen manufacturing industry is fast updating,with diversified and multiple demands of customers,poor raw materials leading to easy devaluation of its stock.Therefore,based on the perspective of supply chain,this paper takes Company S,a member of the industry.At first,it discussed the basic theory of inventory management,and the current theoretical studies of VMI with JMI.Then,the author analyzed its supply chain management model and the existing problems in raw material inventory management by field investigation.Thirdly,it proposed a solution for Company S to improve the inventory management--Jointly Management Inventory(JMI)based on the reasonable method of inventory classification.This includes establishing a strategic cooperation relationship with suppliers,integrating the interfaces of information systems,choosing better logistics mode for JMI and making logistics enterprise more efficiently.Finally,the author made an evaluation and summary of the results of Company S' JMI practice,as well as we put forward some safeguard measures and suggestions for company S.This paper has a practical significance for manufacturers to solve their inventory problems.The inadequacies of the research were pointed out in the end,but still,it provides insights for further studies.
