The Study On Yang Shixian's Thought Of Higher Education

Yang Shixian was a famous educator and scientist in tianjin in modern times.As president of Nankai University for 30 years,he formed rich and unique thoughts on higher education.Under his planning,Nankai University took teaching and scientific research as its development center.Under the guidance of his principles,Nankai University greatly improved the quality of education,teaching and scientific research.In terms of curriculum and discipline construction,"Chemistry" is an ace major.His teaching thought made Nankai University form the historical tradition of laying emphasis on foundation and strong practice.His thoughts on the construction of the teaching staff have cultivated a number of excellent teachers for Nankai University.His thought of logistic support made Nankai University form an organized and orderly logistic work order.On the basis of Yang Shixian's higher education practice and educational remarks,this study attempts to summarize the systematic system of higher education thought,and reveal the origin,characteristics and historical contribution of his higher education thought,so as to provide reference for the development of contemporary higher education.This paper mainly adopts the method of literature research and historical research to conduct in-depth research on Yang Shixian's higher education thought.The main content consists of five chapters.The first chapter mainly summarizes Yang Shixian's life and higher education practice activities;The second chapter systematically summarizes Yang Shixian's higher education thoughts in six aspects,such as the nature and social functions of universities,the principles of running universities,the construction of courses and disciplines,teaching thoughts,the construction of teachers,the logistics support of colleges and universities.The third chapter analyzes the origin of Yang Shixian's thought of higher education.The great ambition of saving the country by education,scientific development and progress and socialist production are the important driving force of Yang Shixian's thought of higher education.The fourth chapter to evaluate Yang higher education thought,the thought characteristic mainly embodied in the patriotic,times,scientific and forward-looking,the influence of his thoughts,including inheritance enriched the Nankai university spirit,university of balanced development of multiple social functions,promote chemical become advantage of Nankai university disciplines,combination of promote the development of agricultural economy in our country.The fifth chapter specifically explains the contemporary value of Yang Shixian's thought of higher education,including adhering to the coordinated development of the "three functions" of colleges and universities,adhering to the construction and development of dominant characteristic subjects,adhering to the improvement of the quality of teachers and promoting the development of science education in colleges and universities.
