Research On Yang Chang Ji's Personality Education Thought

Yang Changji(1871-1920)is a famous educator in modern China.He is noble and knowledgeable,and has high attainments in many humanities fields.His personality education thought has clear objectives,complete content,distinctive features and far-reaching influence.This paper aims to study Yang Changji's personality education thought.The full text consists of six parts,the first to the fifth chapter and the conclusion:The first chapter is an introduction,which explains the origin and significance of research,literature review,definition of core concepts,research ideas,research methods and innovations of the research.The second chapter mainly reviews the life of Yang Changji,and explores the background of Yang Changji's personality education thought from the aspects of personal experience and historical background.On the one hand,the formation of Yang Changji's personality education thought is inseparable from his personal growth experience.Yang Changji received a traditional family education,took the imperial examination,studied abroad,and grew into a famous educator.On the other hand,the formation of Yang Changji's personality education thought was also closely related to the background of the times.The fierce political competition,economic depression and the eastward spread of western learning prompted Yang changji to grow rapidly in the environment at that time,and formed the personality education thought with personal characteristics and based on patriotism.The third chapter discusses the goals of personality education set by Yang Changji,namely,cultivating knowledgeable talents,improving the nature of civilians so as to finally save the Chinese nation from subjugation and ensure its survival,it elaborates on the main content of Yang Changji's personality education thought,which is to help students set up ambitious outlook on life,the self-cultivation view that attaches equal importance to one's body and mind,the accomplishment view of men of virtues and people of exceptional abilities,the moral view of accumulating honesty and morality,the scholarly view of being learned and committed and the national patriotic outlook saving the citizens.It generalizes the measures of implementing the personality educational ideas of Yang Changji,namely,promoting the all-round development of morality,intelligence and physique,teaching by precept and example,self-examination and caring for students.The four chapter generalizes the characteristics of Yang Changji's personality education thought.Patriotism is a common thread that runs throughout the Yang Changji's personality education thought.Yang Changji's personality education thought inherit the foundation of “sinology” and absorb the beneficial ingredients in “Western learning”,traversing China and the west learning,maintaining independence and plurality of thought.Yang Changji's personality education thought can keep “progressing with the ever-changing world”,showing the freshness of his ideas.The five chapter has an overall historical evaluation on the good points and shortcomings of Yang Changji's personality education thought.First of all,it analyzes the positive influence of Yang Changji's personality education thought.Secondly,on the basis of the rational thinking of reality,it reveals the limitation of his personality education.The two aspects are at once connected and different from each other.Finally,it analyzes the enlightenment of Yang Changji's personality education thought on the contemporary world.The conclusion part summarizes the characteristics and advisable part of the writing of the article.The article is based on existing historical materials.It takes personality education as a brand new perspective,fully analyzes and summarizes the personality educational thought systems of Yang Changji and expands the research dimensions of Chinese modern intellectual history and educational history.
