Yang Shi as one of the four outstanding disciples of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi, has a specialstatus in China’s cultural history. He was praised highly “the orthodox school of Cheng’s moral doctrine”by people because he was twice to become a apprentice to Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi in a solemn ceremony,earnestly study and develop the Li school. In the Southern Song, he spread the Luo School in Song dynasty,played an intermediary role in created the theory of Zhu Xi. He was named “The Originator in Min School”by the later Confucianism. He did some development by inheriting the theory of the brothers Cheng Haoand Cheng Yi’. The paper takes Yang Shi’s education thought and academic activities as the main objects ofstudy, by learning various sources, we try to comb the clue of his life and education activities, refine itsconcept of education. Through excavate the education thought the original, content and characteristics moredeeply. Through this way, we get the education thought and academic value of the reading Confucianclassics and Poise Grace, pay attention to skills. The study will play an active role in enriching the Litheory research, help people improve moral standards through finding the original mind of life.The content and status are as follows:Chapter1, Yang Shi’s experiences and scholarship road. Introduce related contents owe schoollife experiences and spread the Luo School in southern song dynasty. Through the research of self-study onYang Shi’s early years, study Li school on his middle age and found a distinct school of thought on his lateryears, explained the influence of his educational thought.Chapter2, the origins of Yang Shi’s educational thought. It discusses the social origins andphilosophical origins individually. The former includes: the creasing complexity of social and academicbackground. The later includes: the theory of human nature, epistemology and the ontology of philosophy. Chapter3, the content of Yang Shi’s educational thought. Firstly, the educational role of “changesof gentleman temperament”. Secondly, the educational aim of “learn to the most holy”. He think thatcultivate the sage is the aims of education. Thirdly, the educational content of reading Confucian Classicsand Poise Grace. He advocates proceeding military training and practical learning except Six Arts study.Fourthly, the educational method of “learning thinking and behavior”. He advocates skeptical and action inteaching. Fifthly, the moral educational of “Good return its original”. He was pay attention to raise theculture level in terms of learning.Chapter4, Summary. It analyses the impact and value of Yang Shi’s educational thought formtwo aspects. Such as the valuation of Yang Shi’s educational thought by generations and the influence ofthe development of Hakka culture, especially, his thought has the deck Luo School and gets down opens theMin School. He was spread the Luo School to the south and develop. His thought was lay the foundation ofepitomized the theory of Zhu Xi in later ages.
