As one of the four major literary genres,the novel is deeply loved by readers for its fascinating plot,vivid characters and specific environmental description.Novel is an important part of high school Chinese textbook and novel teaching also occupies an important position in Chinese teaching.The novel teaching content is rich and the "character" as one of the core elements of the novel is deeply valued by teachers.Although the novel character image teaching has been the focus of the novel teaching,but for various reasons,there are some problems in the teaching content and teaching methods,which affect the teaching effect.Therefore,based on the unified edition of Chinese textbooks for senior high school,this thesis makes a research on the teaching of characters in selected texts of novels.The author ponders the problems existing in teaching and puts forward targeted and enforceable teaching suggestions,in order to provide reference for front-line teachers to carry out novel character teaching.This thesis is divided into the following four parts:The first part is introduction,which mainly describes the origin,significance,current situation,ideas and methods of the study.The second part is the exposition of the novel texts in high school Chinese textbooks,the types of characters and teaching principles.First of all,based on the unified edition of high school Chinese textbook,the author analyzes the selected text of novels in the textbook and classifies the characters in the text.Then the author expounds the principles of teaching characters in novels.These lay the foundation for the study of the teaching of Chinese characters in high school novels.The third part is the investigation and analysis of the current situation of novel character teaching in senior high school.First of all,it investigates the current situation of character image teaching in senior high school novels in the form of questionnaire.Then,through the statistics and analysis of the survey results and the actual classroom observation,it is found that there are three main problems in the teaching of characters in senior high school novels:the analysis of characters is not deep enough,the teaching content is relatively limited and the teaching method is not appropriate.And to explore the causes of the problem,the reason is that the text interpretation is not detailed enough,the character image analysis teaching materials are relatively single,the image of the character analysis teaching is relatively "exam-oriented."The fourth part puts forward the corresponding teaching suggestions based on the teaching problems in high school novel character image and their causes.First,we should read the text carefully,and analyze the characters deeply by reading the language and details.Second,we should enrich the teaching content in the teaching of character image.We should appropriately supplement the original text teaching and expand the necessary theoretical knowledge of the characters and pay attention to the relationship between primary and secondary characters so as to fully analyze the characters.Third,we should use teaching methods not only to use the traditional teaching methods reasonably but also to explore new teaching methods.We should analyze characters skillfully and improve the teaching effect of character image analysis.
