Among the four major literary genres,novel plays a very important role and has always been one of the best styles for teaching our mother tongue.The teaching content of novels includes various parts,and the teaching of characters is one of the main contents,which has always been the focus of the first-line Chinese teachers in the teaching classroom and teaching process.This study also mainly discusses the teaching of novels in Chinese class from the perspective of characters,and makes some necessary thinking and Exploration on the teaching of characters in junior high school novels.On the basis of previous research,through practical investigation and interview,combined with pedagogy,psychology and other relevant theories,the author tries to summarize and inherit the existing and good tradition and experience of the teaching of the characters in the novel style,including attaching importance to the teaching of the typical characters and objects in the novel,appreciating the characters' spiritual quality,and edifying the students' emotions;at the same time To find out the problems that still exist and need to be solved,including the lack of detailed character reading,the neglect of secondary characters,the rigidity of character analysis mode,the lack of supplement to the original,etc.On this basis,the author puts forward some personal suggestions to improve the teaching and research of the characters in the novel.Due to the limited personal experience and ability,the thinking and exploration of this article only take the junior middle school Chinese textbook of the Department Edition(or typical characters)as an example.The author mainly expounds the research on the character image teaching in junior high school novels from four aspects.The first chapter is based on the compilation of junior middle school Chinese textbook,which makes statistics on the selected texts of novels in the textbook and the main characters in the selected texts;the second chapter analyzes the achievements and problems found in the teaching of characters in junior middle school novels through the collection of relevant teaching cases;the third chapter is based on the investigation and questions existing in the teaching of characters The fourth chapter is based on the current situation of the teaching of the characters in the novels in the junior high school,combined with the interview with the Chinese teachers in junior high school,aiming at the problems in the teaching of the characters in the novels at present,it puts forward relevant suggestions for improvement,and explores the improvement of the teaching strategies.First of all,we should pay attention to the detailed description of the characters in the novel,combining with the description of the characters' language,action and psychology to analyze the characters' images;secondly,we should improve the previous situation of belittling the teaching of the secondary characters in the novel,and pay more attention to the analysis and interpretation of the secondary characters' images.Finally,we should pay attention to the cultivation of students' individual interpretation ability,their divergent thinking,and the sublimation of emotion in the immersive experience of the characters,so that students can truly approach the characters in the novel and cultivate correct values.
