Guangzhou,with its unique geographical advantages and economic environment,has triggered cross-border flows between China and Africa.Among them,family mobility is a relatively special cross-border mobility,which has triggered a large number of "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou,referring to those whose age structure is between 6 and 14 years old,born in Africa or Guangzhou,African American school-age children living in Guangzhou for a long time."Non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou receive less attention from their families because their parents are busy with business,and are prone to more difficulties and setbacks due to their special status.Improving the resilience of "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou is an important solution to effectively face difficulties and conflicts.Based on Hunter’s hierarchy model of resilience,this study first elaborated the adverse events that activated the resilience of the "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou,and found that the "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou had prominent difficulties in acculturation.The support of family,peers and social workers,as well as the unique advantages of "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou,can effectively help them withstand adversity.Based on the qualitative research results,standardized and personalized definition of the needs of "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou was carried out,the initiative of seeking external help and the enthusiasm of self-development of "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou was mobilized by group work,and the effectiveness of group work in improving the resilience of "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou was tested.Finally,reflect on the advantages and disadvantages of this study,and put forward the strategies to improve the resilience of "non-second-generation children" in Guangzhou from four aspects: educational welfare system,community resources,social work institutions and individual advantages.
