With the development of society and the increasing frequency of population flow, the family structure pattern in China has undergone many important changes, and a brand-new pattern-new empty nest has emerged. It refers to a family where only middle-aged parents live alone because their children go to school, work and get married. Now,a certain number of middle-aged couples have entered the empty nest period.Due to the sudden advance of the empty nest stage, compared with men, women have a higher incidence of psychological problems. After the child leaves, the mother will suddenly feel the difference, difficult to adapt, psychological conversion difficulties, serious can develop into depression and so on.So we need to pay attention to this group of New Empty Nest Women, study their family adaptation and specific psychological problems, influencing factors, existing advantages, and through the intervention of social work to make them better adapt to life.Based on the theory of dominance, through literature review, questionnaire survey, interview and participant observation, and with the help of d community platform, this study identified new empty-nest women with serious psychological problems as the subjects of investigation. They generally have three psychological adjustment problems:low mood, depressed mood;self-doubt,low sense of value;loneliness and helplessness.using effective social work techniques to expand their formal and informal support networks,a total of 9 members,a total of eight group intervention, divided into pre-mid-late,so that they find their strengths, ease psychological adjustment problems. After intervention, the results showed that all members of the psychological depression and anxiety have returned to a healthy orientation, and through each activity of observation and conversation, four specific changes were identified:the Group members developed a new and positive view of themselves;their part time lifestyle was improved;they developed a regular network of contacts;and they had a community platform. This paper uses the intervention of the reciprocity group to bring into play various advantages in terms of theoretical basis, methodology and the role of social workers. However, there are three problems:It is difficult to meet the needs of each client, the effectiveness of intervention is difficult to evaluate, and the durability is difficult to ensure.Although the use of reciprocal group intervention has some limitations and the representation of the sample in the article is insufficient,it also has important theoretical and practical significance in promoting the life and mental health development of the new generation of women from empty nest families,in the future research and exploration can broaden more professional community social services to adapt to the current trend of development.
