Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Senile Functional Constipation With Zhuyang Tongbian Ointment Based On The Theory Of "kidney Governs Water And Constipation"

Purpose: Based on the theory of "the kidney controlling water metabolism and governing defecation",to observe the clinical efficacy and safety of the tutor's experience prescription Zhuyang Tongbian Ointment in the treatment of elderly functional constipation,hoping to provide a basis for practical application and clinical promotion in the future.Material and method: 90 elderly patients with functional constipation who were treated in the outpatient department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2018 to December 2019 were selected and divided into treatment group and control group according to the random number table method,each group 45 cases.The treatment group was given 1 pouch of Zhuyang Tongbian Ointment each time,20 m L per pouch,twice a day in the morning and evening for 2 weeks,and the control group received 9 grams of Maren Pills each time,twice a day for 2 weeks.The improvement of constipation symptoms,adverse reactions,and liver and kidney function examinations were recorded at three observation time points before treatment,at the end of the 2-week course of treatment,and 4 weeks after drug withdrawal.All the data were analyzed by SPSS20.0,and conclusions were drawn.Results:1.Overall curative effect evaluation: After the treatment period,the total effective rate of the treatment group is 88.89%,and the total effective rate of the control group is 77.78%.There is a statistical difference between the two groups(P=0.013<0.05),indicating that the overall curative effect of the treatment group is better than that control group.2.Evaluation of constipation symptom scores: The total scores of constipation symptoms in the two groups were significantly improved compared with before treatment(P<0.01);at the end of the treatment,the treatment group was better than the control group in improving stool characteristics,defecation time,and defecation frequency(P<0.05);4 weeks after drug withdrawal,the scores of constipation symptoms in the treatment group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).3.Safety evaluation: The main indicators of liver and kidney function in the two groups did not change significantly before and after treatment(P>0.05),suggesting that the two groups are relatively safe to take drugs;the incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment of the two groups is equivalent(P>0.05).Conclusion: Zhuyang Tongbian Ointment is better than Maren Pills in the treatment of functional constipation in the elderly;it is better than Maren Pills in improving stool characteristics,defecation time,and defecation frequency,and has a long-term effect in relieving constipation symptoms.The ointment is better;the safety of the two groups of drugs is relatively reliable,so the results of this study show that Zhuyang Tongbian Ointment is safe and effective in the treatment of senile functional constipation and is worthy of clinical promotion.
