With the continuous promotion of rural revitalization policy and the growing trend of aging, the material and spiritual needs of rural elderly with disabilities in China have gradually drawn attention at the social level. However, the poor infrastructure, inadequate service system, and young caregivers going out to work in rural areas have led to the crippling of social support network for the rural disabled elderly group, and the feedback on the effectiveness of poverty alleviation in the form of figures also conceals the spiritual needs of rural disabled elderly under the figures. There are few studies on this complex group in academia, and most of them are focused on separate areas.Based on this, the author decided to intervene in the construction of social support networks for rural elderly with disabilities to promote better integration of these groups into society. This study uses social support theory as a guide to establish formal and informal social support networks for rural elderly with disabilities,as well as to modify the irrational beliefs of the clients and guide them to face life with optimism. The author used the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)to collect the self-rated social support scores of the clients before and after the intervention, and to evaluate the effect of social work intervention on the social support network of rural elderly with disabilities in three aspects: subjective support, objective support, and utilization of support,in order to enhance the function of formal support for the clients and consolidate and expand the function of informal support.Through casework interventions, the author has come to the following conclusions:firstly, there is a lack of spiritual care for the rural elderly with disabilities.Secondly, social workers can use the professional theories and skills of social work can help rural elderly with disabilities link environmental resources, shape the platform of interaction, and help them achieve social integration. Finally, social work interventions for rural elderly with disabilities need to focus on the shaping of social support networks. Therefore, casework interventions in the establishment of social support networks for rural older adults with disabilities have theoretical and practical advantages and can provide some reference experience for related studies. |
