Casework Involves Emotional Support Research On Disabled Elderly People In Urban Communities

According to statistics,the age structure of China’s population shows that the scale of the elderly population continues to expand,and the number of disabled elderly in the elderly population will continue to increase.First of all,under the rigid demands of the state and the government on life care and rehabilitation services for the disabled,the basic material conditions of the disabled in society have been basically met.Secondly,family care is still the most important mode of care for the disabled elderly in my country,accounting for 85.1%.Under multiple pressures,caregivers often ignore the emotional state of the disabled elderly.The spiritual care of the disabled elderly under family care is more likely to be neglected,gradually causing the disabled elderly to form a negative life concept and lose confidence in their future life.Therefore,the state actively advocates the integration of social organizations into grassroots governance innovation,and attaches great importance to the spiritual life and mental health of disabled elderly groups.Therefore,it is of great significance for social work to continuously study the social problems of the mental health of the urban disabled elderly and how to intervene in the research on emotional support for the disabled elderly.During the internship,the author found that J community is an old unit community by going to J community to carry out activities,and there are a large number of elderly people living in it.In order to accurately carry out community services,the author conducted two separate interviews with some disabled elderly people in the community to understand the basic situation,existing problems and needs of disabled elderly people.The author found that the disabled elderly have economic and emotional needs,with emotional needs accounting for the highest proportion and strong intentions.The service object selected in this article is the disabled elderly who were referred by the street.The author enters the daily life of the elderly as a community worker,understands the basic situation by communicating with the service objects and visiting relevant persons,and explores and defines the problems and needs of the disabled elderly;Guided by support theory and family system theory,referring to the basic logic of professional strategies for comprehensive development,a psychosocial treatment model is adopted,and a variety of intervention techniques are used.That is,starting from the disabled elderly themselves,using the life course review intervention method,to change the inner loneliness and cognitive negative problems of the client;at the same time,develop and enhance the awareness and ability of the client’s main family caregivers,neighbors and friends to support the disabled elderly;And develop community staff and residents to strengthen the concern and understanding of the disabled elderly,and promote the culture of loving and respecting the elderly.The author hopes that through this action research,it can provide some references for the intervention of emotional support for the disabled elderly.
