China’s elderly population base is large,the degree of aging has further accelerated,and the state has gradually paid attention to this problem.Through combing and reviewing the literature at home and abroad,the author reviewed the three related studies of social support theory at home and abroad,the situation of the elderly living alone,and the social work practice intervention in the support of the elderly living alone in rural areas.Based on the theoretical basis and practical activities,the research content of this paper is determined.Through participatory observation and other methods,the basic situation of the elderly living alone in rural areas was investigated,the problems and needs faced by them were analyzed,and WKL was selected as the subject.Located on the Loess Plateau in the west,Village G has a declining birth rate in recent years,a serious aging problem in the village,and various problems such as material deprivation,emotional depression,and no one to take care of the elderly living alone in the village.As one of the few elderly people living alone in the village,WKL has great difficulties in life,lack of peer group communication,emotional depression,closed heart,and negative attitude to life.Based on this,the author helps clients enhance formal support and informal support through case activities,and enhances self-support around strengthening clients’ personal will.mobilizing family members to increase their concern for the client;advocate for mutual aid among neighbors;Link community resources;Bringing in village committee forces;Advocate the establishment of mutual aid teams and other enhancement of formal support,help clients improve their ability to solve problems by themselves,build a complete social support network for them,improve the quality of life of clients,meet the spiritual needs of clients,stimulate clients’ hope and confidence in life,overcome the negative problems caused by living alone at an advanced age as much as possible,and use process evaluation and result evaluation methods after the end of case activities to evaluate the changes of the elderly and the achievement of service goals.Finally,the author summarizes and reflects on the process,results,and application of theoretical methods of the entire service activity,and puts forward prospects and suggestions for the future development of the elderly living alone in rural areas. |
