Teenagers are the future of a country.Their academic performance has always been the focus of attention of society,schools and parents.How to help students get more academic achievements has always been a topic of concern and research in the field of educational psychology.Previous studies have shown that many factors affect students’ academic performance.The focus of this research is to investigate the external environmental factors of parental education,and the internal motivation factors such as students’ self-esteem,and to examine the impact of these two factors on academic performance.On one hand,it can enrich the previous studies,and lay a theoretical foundation for further research in the future.In this paper,450 pupils were selected to conduct a questionnaire survey.The relationship among the three factors was discussed in detail by using statistical difference test,regression analysis and related analysis.The conclusions are as follows:First of all,parents of primary school pupils adopt a positive way of education,and pupils as a whole have a higher sense of self-esteem;secondly,there are obvious differences in the grade of education adopted by parents of primary school pupils,compared with fifth and sixth grade pupils,parents of fourth grade pupils adopt a positive way of education.The way of upbringing is better.The self-esteem of pupils differs from that of pupils in fifth and sixth grades.Compared with pupils in fifth and sixth grades,pupils in fourth grade have better self-esteem;Thirdly,the positive parenting style adopted by pupils’ parents can have a significant positive impact on academic performance,and it also has a positive impact on pupils’ self-esteem.There was a significant positive correlation.However,the negative parenting style adopted by pupils’ parents can have a significant negative impact on academic performance,and there is also a significant negative correlation between the negative parenting style and the sense of self-esteem of pupils.There is also a very significant positive correlation between students’ sense of self-esteem and academic performance;Fourthly,the rejection and denial of such parenting methods adopted by pupil mothers can significantly achieve the negative predictions of academic performance.More parents adopt the rejection and denial of such parenting methods,which will also lead to pupils’ learning.Achievements are getting worse.The emotional warmth and understanding of pupils’ fathers can significantly predict academic performance from a positive perspective.Fathers use more emotional warmth and understanding of the upbringing methods,pupils’ academic performance will become better.However,there are obvious gender differences in pupils’ fathers’ punishment and strict parenting style;Fifth,pupils’ self-esteem can achieve asignificant positive prediction of academic performance.The higher the sense of self-esteem a pupil possesses,the better his academic performance will be.The parenting style adopted by pupils’ parents can also significantly realize the prediction of self-esteem.The parenting style and self-esteem of pupils can be used to predict their academic performance.
