A Study On The Social Work Intervention Of Community Integration Group For Elderly People Relocated To Poverty Alleviation

Relocation to alleviate poverty is one of the important initiatives for poverty alleviation.This initiative is strategically important for China to achieve the goal of a well-off society,and it is equally important for the poor people who live in a poor environment for a long time.With the implementation of the relocation policy,the community integration problem of the relocated population has become more and more prominent,especially the community integration dilemma of the elderly population has seriously affected the quality of life of the elderly relocated to poverty alleviation in their later years.The solution to the community integration problem of the elderly relocated from poverty-stricken areas is conducive to the stability of society and the enhancement of the sense of well-being of the elderly.This study was conducted with the elderly people relocated to S resettlement communities in Suiyang County,Zunyi City,Guizhou Province.A random sample of 60 elderly people was selected to fill out a community integration questionnaire and a structured interview,to understand the community integration dilemmas of the elderly people relocated to urban communities,including the obvious homesickness,weak family care and insufficient community services.In response to the above dilemmas,group social work was used to intervene,and the needs of the elderly people relocated to urban communities were analyzed based on social support theory and social integration theory.Combining theory and needs,six group activities were designed to help the elderly relocated to poverty alleviation establish a safe and reliable social support network,so that the elderly relocated to poverty alleviation can understand the community objectively,increase their confidence in integrating into the community,and achieve the goal of integrating into the community to enjoy their old age in the community.Based on the study,the author proposes relevant recommendations for the study of group work interventions in the field of elderly people relocated from poverty-stricken areas.
