Red Resources,as an excellent Chinese culture,have high educational value,and are vivid materials for patriotism education and education of ideals and beliefs.Xi Jinping,President of the People’s Republic of China has repeatedly emphasized that history is the best textbook and we must pass on the red gene from generation to generation.He also called on young pioneers across the country to study the Chinese revolution,construction,and reform,to learn from heroes and models,and to love the Chinese Communist Party,the motherland and the Chinese people.The Chinese Youth Pioneer is a mass organization of Chinese youth and children whose mission is to train qualified builders and reliable successors.The main task of the Young Pioneer Education is to provide political enlightenment for young children and cultivate their value.The political,positive and educational attributes of Red Resources determine that they can play an important role to enrich the contents and approaches of young pioneers’ education.Based on this analysis,this study focuses on B city of Guangxi province as the research area,and the main research methods are questionnaires and semi-structured interviews.This study explores the strategies to improve the integration of Red Resources into the education of young pioneers in primary schools and to help build the political enlightenment and values of children.The appeal of the political attribute of the Young Pioneers organization and the educational advantage of the Red Resources provide the necessity and possibility for the fusion of the two.In this study,“Red Resources” refers to the sum of various spirits and their material carriers formed by the people of various ethnic groups under the leadership of the Communist Party of China in the revolutionary struggle,which can be developed and utilized today and have important significance,and it includes the historical remains of material form,spiritual form and information form that can be transformed and utilized by people.“Political Socialization” is the theory basis of this study.According to Zhang Taicheng’s classification of Red Resources,based on the needs of theoretical research,Red Resources in the city of B can be specifically divided into three major categories: material form,spiritual form and information form,including 7 subcategories such as ruins,red utensils and memorial buildings.This study investigated three primary schools at the municipal,county and village levels in B city of Guangxi province,including a questionnaire survey of 410 young pioneers and 135 young pioneer counselors,and interviews with 14 young pioneers and 12 young pioneer counselors.The survey results show: 1)the integration of Red Resources into the education of young pioneers in primary schools in B city generally has the instructions of top-down document spirit,the school leaders attach great importance to the application of Red Resources in the education of young pioneers in primary schools;2)material form red resources are the most selected of the three types,the top three are the Baise Uprising Memorial,Baise Uprising Monument and Qingfeng Building,and the city-level primary schools choose more red resource types than county-level primary schools and village-level primary schools;3)the willingness of city-level young pioneers to participate in red activities is strong,the way is more,the frequency is high,by contrast,the county level is next and the village level is the lowest;4)the vast majority of young pioneer counselors consider that the implementation of red activities for young pioneers is very good,and the young pioneers benefit greatly.Although the necessity and importance of the integration of Red Resources into the education of the Young Pioneers in the primary school have been given a certain degree of attention and achieved certain results,there are still some problems: 1)the Young Pioneers do not fully understand the purpose of the integration of Red Resources;2)the Young Pioneers organization does not have a rich choice of Red Resource types;3)the Young Pioneers ’red activity process design experience is not outstanding;4)the Young Pioneers’ red activity effects are not systematically evaluated.Therefore,in order to better promote the integration of Red Resources into education of the Young Pioneers in primary schools,we discuss several suggestions to help overcome the four existing problems: integration of the relevant resources of all parties to form a joint force,enhancement of training to improve the red quality of Young Pioneers’ counselors,utilization of a variety of educational methods to optimize the design,emphasis on evaluation to strengthen the effectiveness of Red education,so as to take the full advantages of Red Resources to the Young Pioneers for positive education.
