This report is based on the E-C translation of The Art of Psychological Warfare,which was written by Michael T.Stevens and published in 2016.In this informative text,multiple practical psychological tactics listed by the author to help people defeat their targets through psychological warfare.Four chapters were chosen to be translated including the history of psychological warfare and the introduction of some useful skills to subdue the enemies in a stealth mode.There are a great deal of conjunctive coordination used in the source text.According to the statistics,there are 225 conjunctive coordination in total.On the one hand,in order to choose the appropriate translation strategies,it is necessary to classify these numerous conjunctive coordination and find their common features;on the other hand,for the complex sentence structures or semantic relations,most of them can not be translated well under the strategy of word-for-word translation,which brings great translation difficulties.Based on text features and translation barriers,six methods of Complete Translation Methodology including addition,omission,transference,substitution,combination and division were selected to ensure the completeness of information and readability of translation.This report aims to make a further exploration of translating conjunctive coordination in the informative text and offer some reference value.
