| The blooming economic development and the many lovely views in China attract an increasing number of tourists to visit and explore the marvelous land. This makes it necessary to translate texts about tourism and scene resorts. This thesis studies the C-E translation of the book《一生必去的30个地方》(Thirty Places to Go in One’s Lifetime). It aims to make the target readers fully understand the content of the book by employing appropriate translation strategies and retaining the original pragmatic value of the book.The thesis first describes briefly the content of the book《一生必去的30个地方》(Thirty Places to Go in One’s Lifetime) and analyzes its text type, text function and text features. Then it introduces the theory of complete translation methodology and analyzes its guiding function in the C-E translation of the book. On the basis of this, and by combining the theory of complete translation methodology with the content and features of the book, the thesis discusses the strategies for translating into English names of scenery spots, introductions to scenery spots, and words on scenery illustrations in the book. The result of the translation practice shows that the seven strategies proposed in the theory of complete translation methodology work very well in providing guidance to the translation of the book. |
