| With the deepening of the curriculum reform,the goal of primary school English curriculum pays more attention to cultivate students’ vocabulary application ability.How to improve the students’ competence of vocabulary application and how to improve vocabulary teaching have become the common focus of teachers and students.On the basis of reviewing the teaching of English vocabulary at home and abroad,the author conclude that there are still many problems in English teaching and learning in primary schools.This thesis,under the guidance of blending instructional theory,takes the students into accounting major in XX Secondary Vocational School as the research object,and discusses how to apply the Blending Instructional model to the primary English teaching.With the method of the questionnaire,interview and test.The results reveal that there are four problems in vocabulary teaching::(1)Students are not very interested in English vocabulary learning;(2)Students lack confidence in English vocabulary learning;(3)Students lack strategies for memorizing English vocabulary;(4)Students’ ability to use English vocabulary is not strong.To solve the above problems,the author joins online learning activities to implement the first round of action research.It includes four steps: 1)Vocabulary presentation,stimulating motivation;2)Vocabulary input,knowledge promotion;3)Online applications,new knowledge consolidation;4)Use professional vocabulary applications to use knowledge flexibly.After the first round of research,the author reflected three questions based on the teacher and the students’ logs in the vocabulary teaching process: 1.Teachers don’t teach students in accordance with their aptitude;2.Teaching methods are not diversified;3.Students’ autonomous learning ability has not been effectively stimulated.Then the author re-adjusted the teaching plan: 1)Before class,teacher released preview content in layers;2)In the course,teacher used equipment to innovate teaching methods;3)After class,teacher used micro videos to consolidate new knowledge.After the two rounds of action research,the author conducted a holistic analysis through questionnaires,interviews and tests,which can help summarize the whole action research.The research shows that the combination of online learning activities and traditional English vocabulary teaching model made students more clear about vocabulary learning goals,students’ vocabulary memory strategies and selective learning abilities were cultivated,and their vocabulary learning enthusiasm and confidence were also improved.According to the questionnaire,72% of the people have enhanced their interest and confidence in vocabulary learning;In terms of test scores,from this point of view,most students have improved the ability of vocabulary memory and vocabulary application.From the feedback of interviews,it stimulated their vocabulary learning enthusiasm and cultivated good vocabulary learning habits.In general,the combination of online learning activities and traditional English vocabulary teaching can effectively monitor the teaching process and make Blending Instructional model more suitable for students’ writing needs,which also provides references for other primary school teachers to improve vocabulary teaching. |
