In the recent years,with the rapid development of Chinese film and television industry,many excellent films and television works have entered the overseas market.These are deeply loved by audiences abroad,which have also attracted the attention of many front-line Chinese teachers.They have begun to incorporate these outstanding video clips to Chinese teaching,showing authentic language expression,real and vivid communication scenes to learners.Video clips used in the classroom can show the incomparable advantages of other teaching methods,so it is loved by many teachers and students.Its advantage lies in the use of acousto-optic technology to vividly show the communication scenes and cultures of the target countries.Learners can learn the target language in real time;hence it not only provides the target language environment for learners,but also helps learners to obtain more information and understand the target culture more accurately.Therefore many scholars began to conduct research on this teaching method.In this paper,the author first analyzes and proves the feasibility of the video clip teaching method from a theoretical basis.The author then integrates the lesson six of the book“Experiencing Chinese Language” taught in the high school sophomore year,named “The Weekend” and a You Tube video “Watch videos and learn Chinese” by Liu Zhigang.Followed by which,certain selected film and television materials are utilized to teach students relevant knowledge points,in order to help them understand and memorize the required contents;and to be familiar with non-verbal communication behaviors found in language communication.At the same time,these video clips are used in the exercises provided in the respective chapter to help students practice pronunciation,review,consolidate and cultivate language sense.This paper is divided into four main chapters:Chapter One: Introduction,mainly introduces the reason and significance of the topic,research status at home and abroad,research outline,method,.features and innovations of this article.Chapter Two: Video clip Teaching,First summarize the meaning of video clip teaching method,and then explain the feasibility of video clip teaching method through three aspects of theoretical basis,modern technology support,video clip teaching,and provide theoretical support for the use of video clip teaching in Chinese teaching Finally,sort out the current situation and existing problems of Chinese video clips in Chinese teaching.Chapter Three: Teaching ideas and principles.Firstly,it introduces the principles of selecting video clips from four aspects: authenticity,practicability,interest and pertinence.Secondly,the importance of accurately determining the teaching content of using video clipsis described.Finally,put forward some feasible suggestions for the teaching of video clips in order to let the video clips fully play their role in teaching.Chapter Four: Application of video clips in the classroom teaching design.Take“Watch videos and learn Chinese”for Example.The author uses the lesson six of the book“Experiencing Chinese Language” taught in the high school sophomore year,named “The Weekend” as the teaching content,and combines it with the You Tube video “Watch videos and learn Chinese” by Liu Zhigang as the video clip to create the teaching design.Finally the teaching effects of this lesson on the students’ classroom performance,homework feedback and after class conversation are analyzed;thereby proving the practicality of the video clips.Conclusion: Summary of the research content,and points out some shortages.
