Film and television teaching has a long history of development with the second languageteaching in foreign countries, and achieved significant progress. The starting point of time tostudy this problem at China was later than some of the world’s countries started relatively early,the starting level is not very high,however, research in this field has been paid more and moreattention.Compared with the traditional paper media, video clips used in teaching Chinese as aforeign language, has a unique advantage. Teaching Chinese as a foreign language also need thisnew teaching methods.Video clips in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language has someadvantages, for example, helps to overcome the barrier of language and helps repair the shortboard between target language and parent language.Video clips used in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language as an effective teachingmethod, is an important product of “Chinese fever”. And it is one of the important reasons tochoose the topic. The video clips should be adhered to the interest, targeted, appropriate andpractical principles. Based on these principles, then sort them in accordance with the importanceof of effective. And select suitable video clips for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Reprocessing the video clips that suitable for teaching, and selecting appropriate content to teachstudents. For quantitative statistics of the selected video clips, and in conditions permit, inaccordance with the principle of moderation to sort them and establish corresponding corpus.The video clips is applied to the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, can train thelanguage skills and communicative skills at utmost. This paper will also take some valuablevideo clips of some famous film as an example, discuss the specific application in the oralChinese teaching.In this paper, video clips as the research object. Specific to some movies as the mainexample from the book "film screening of the movie to learn Chinese" compiled by WangXiaoping. Combined with the texts of thirteenth classes from spoken Chinese textbooks "spokenChinese: improve the articles" compiled by Ma Fijian. Then in view of the current situation of film material, analysis of the principle of video clips of the material. The last partsummarized some deficiencies of this study, and hoped to be able to improve the researchmethods in future research, to obtain a more complete results.The essay is divided into six parts.ChapterⅠ i s the introduction which mainlyintroduces the significance, contents andConcept definition.ChapterⅡ is a brief view of video clips and oral teaching and a brief review on theapplication of theoretical results related to video clips in the teaching of Chinese as a foreignlanguage.ChapterⅢ:As an adjunct to traditional teaching method, video clips has the necessity of itsexistence. In teaching, teachers should make full use of its advantages.ChapterⅣ analyzed the application of video clips from the angle of spoken languagetraining. It mainly analysis from three aspects: the words and language practice, the text practiceand oral practice.ChapterⅤ includes the selection principles and some problems. This chapter analyzes theselection principles of video clips from the interest, targeted, appropriate and practical principles.ChapterⅥis the conclusion part. It summarize the research work of this paper and points outthe innovation and deficiency.
