Effect Of Acupuncture And Medicine Packet On Cervical Spondylosis Of Vertebral Artery Type

Objective:To observe the curative effect of acupuncture and medicine packet on cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type,analyze and explore the role of medicine packet in the treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis,and provide certain reference for clinical treatment.Methods:A total of 56 patients with vertebral artery cervical spondylosis in Wuhan Hospital of TCM who were diagnosed and treated from June 2021 to December 2021 were included in this study.56 patients,in accordance with the random number table,were randomly divided into acupuncture combined with medicine packet（treatment group）and acupuncture group（control group）,with 28 patients in each group.Patients in the treatment group received cocktail therapy including acupuncture associated with medicine packet,while the control group was merely treated with acupuncture.As for the duration of treatment,both were provided with the same length of time,namely,30 minutes for a single acupuncture and 20 minutes for medicine packet treatment 3 or 4 times a week for 3 weeks.In terms of analysis,before and after treatment,the blood flow velocity and inner diameter of bilateral vertebral arteries were recorded and analyzed.Two weeks after the end of treatment,the patients were followed up to observe the changes of cervical vertigo symptoms and functional scores before and after treatment.SPSS was used for statistical analysis of the recorded data,to explore the clinical efficacy and safety of acupuncture combined with medicine packet in the treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis.Results:（1）Comparison of blood flow velocity and inner diameter of vertebral artery in cervical vascular color doppler ultrasound showed significant statistical difference between 2 groups before and after treatment（P<0.05）.Besides,the improvement degree in treatment group was more satisfactory than that in observation group（P<0.05）.（2）Comparison of symptoms and functional scores of cervical vertigo between the two groups showed significant statistical differences before and after treatment（P<0.01）.Acupuncture and medicine packet group was superior to control group in improving nausea,vertigo,headache,insomnia and other symptoms（P<0.05）.（3）Efficacy comparison: after the treatment,both methods have seen significant efficacy in the treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis.The effective rate of the treatment group was 96.43% and the recovery rate was 57.14% separately,compared with the effective rate of observation group 82.14% and the recovery rate 21.43%.In total,the total effective rate of the two groups was（P<0.05）and the recovery rate of both groups was（P<0.05）.（4）No occurrence of bending,broken needles,hematoma or other phenomena in the treatment group and the observation group,and only a few patients experienced mild pain,acid distension and discomfort.Other than those above-mentioned slight reactions,no serious adverse reactions were reported.Conclusion:Both acupuncture plus medicine packet and mere acupuncture treatment have significant clinical efficacy and guarantee patients’ safety in the treatment of vertebral artery type cervical spondylosis.All statistics and analyses taken into account,integrative therapy of acupuncture plus medicine packet enjoys better efficacy than simple acupuncture,which is worth promoting and applying in clinical practice.
