Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Chalazion In Children With Self-made Huatan Xiaohe Powder

Objective:With the improvement of material living standard and the popularization of electronic products,more and more children have bad eating habits(such as eating preference,irregular diet,etc.)and eye habits(long-term use of mobile phones,computer,TV,etc.),the incidence rate of sputum nuclei in out-patient children is increasing.The smaller chalazion can dissipate itself after local hot compress,but the larger one or the one that is difficult to dissipate by itself is usually removed by operation.In children,chalazion has the characteristics of multiple and easy recurrence.Surgical resection may cause more destruction of the surrounding glandular ducts and increase the possibility of reoccurrence.Besides,the operation can’t eliminate the source of the disease,and it may need multiple operations.Secondly,children’s operations do not cooperate or even need general anesthesia,many family members are not willing to accept this method easily.From the previous literature research,it is found that traditional Chinese medicine has a good effect in the treatment of this disease.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to compare the main symptoms and signs scores,total effective rate and recurrence rate of the two groups before and after treatment,And the clinical efficacy and safety of this prescription were systematically analyzed to provide new ideas and methods for TCM treatment of this disease.Methods:The cases included in this project are all from Jiangxi University of traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital love eye center,a total of 53 cases(56 eyes)were diagnosed as chalazion of the children(age is less than 2～8 years old).On the principle of soliciting family members’ willingness,all children were randomlydivided into treatment group and control group,there were 27 children in the treatment group and 26 children in the control group,3 of whom had binocular disease,1 in the treatment group and 2 in the control group,both of which were 28 eyes.The control group was treated with Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Eye Gel(LHEG),4 times a day,plus local hot compress,2 times a day,15-20 minutes each time,the treatment group in the control group on the basis of self-designed Huatan Xiaohe powder oral,one dose a day.Every 10 days is a course of treatment,regular reexamination,according to the size of chalazion to determine the course of treatment.The main symptoms and signs scores,total effective rate and recurrence rate of the two groups were compared and the curative effect was evaluated comprehensively.Avoid spicy and irritant food during medication.Research results:(1)The scores of main symptoms and signs in the treatment group on the 10 th,20th and 30 th day after treatment were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05),In the treatment group,the size of scleroma,the color of cyst skin,the symptom and sign scores of food intake were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.01).According to the above results,with the increase of the course of treatment,the improvement of symptoms and signs in the traditional Chinese medicine group is more obvious than that in the control group;(2)After a course of treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group(78.57%)was compared with that of the control group(67.86%),P value was 0.05,no statistical significance.After two or three courses of treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group(89.29%,92.86%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(71.43%,78.57%).The P values of the two groups were 0.049 and0.029 respectively,with statistical difference;(3)According to the data,there was no significant difference between the recurrence rate of the treatment group(3.85%)and the control group(13.64%)after one month follow-up(P > 0.05).After two months follow-up,the recurrence rate of the treatment group(3.85%)was significantly lower than that of the control group(27.27%,31.82%),the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Theshort-term recurrence rate in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group;(4)There were no adverse reactions in the two groups before and after treatment,and the clinical effect was relatively safe and reliable.Conclusion:(1)Self-made Huatan Xiaohe powder can effectively treat chalazion in children,and its therapeutic effect is better than that of the control group;(2)Self-made Huatan Xiaohe powder is better than the control group in improving the symptoms and and signs;(3)The self-designed Huatan Xiaohe powder can effectively reduce the recurrence rate in a short period(3 months).Whether it can effectively reduce the recurrence rate needs further clinical observation;(4)The self-made Huatan Xiaohe powder has no obvious adverse reactions and side effects in the course of treatment.It has good safety and embodies the characteristic treatment of traditional Chinese medicine.It is worthy of further study,promotion and application.
