Objective: To summarize mentor Xiao Xiaohe-researcher’s academic thoughts intraditional chinese medicine (TCM), and elaborated his academic ideas inresearching and compilating of medicinal resources of "Chinese military Herbal",and in army special needs of drug development of application examples andexperience.Methods: Xiao Xiaohe-researcher’s ideas about understanding and solution to thekey scientific issues of TCM were interpreted. Resource survey and literatureresearch methods were applied to assist tutor in compiling "Chinese militaryHerbal" and information systems were developed. Resource survey and literature research methodswere.This monograph contained more than590kinds of Chinese herbal medicine.It involved the control methods for frequently-occurring disease, infectiousdiseases and biochemistry radiation in the military environment, and also involvedmany military health care products.The drug-loaded systems of military circulationand cold-dispelling self-heat paste were set up. To screen the best ratio of fevermatrix, the matrix parameters, such as heat, the maximum heating power, heathalf-life, etc. were detected by LKB2277micro-calorimeter. Microcalorimetric method was usedfor evaluating the heating power of eight kinds of commercially available samples,and we found that the microcalorimetric method could detect differences in thequality of multiple samples at one-time.Conclusion: Mentor’s academic thoughts could be summarized as:medical-pharmacy combination of TCM, combination of clinical and scientificresearch, research service clinic, and clin guidance research. Mentor showed TCMshould service for the soldiers, which could greatly improve the level of theservice of military health service, and have important military and academic value.Combining the needed of military health service, military circulation andcold-dispelling self-heat preparation were set up, and that had important militaryand academic value for improving the equipment level of our military fieldman-conventional medical support, ensuring the combat effectiveness.
