Study On Diagram Architecture With Kazuyo Sejima As An Example

The architecture diagram not only has the function of explanation,but also play an important role in the process of architecture design.Such architecture diagram is called generative diagram.Kazuyo Sejima’s architecture are one of the important classifications of Generative Diagram which called Diagram Architecture.At present,there is no systematic and in-depth study and summary about it.Based on the Architecture Diagram theory,this paper studies the diagram-design method of Kazuyo Sejima’s Diagram Architecture through literature collection,classification and induction,graphic demonstration and other research methods,and demonstrates the diagram application of Kazuyo Sejima in the design process by graphic analysis method.From the three stages of the process of architecture diagram design(the appearance of the diagram origin,the transformation of the diagram-origin and the transformation from diagram to architecture),the author makes an in-depth analysis of Kazuyo Sejima’ Diagram Architecture.This paper classifies the diagram-origin in Kazuyo Sejima’ Diagram Architecture into three categories: rectangle,grid and curve,and analyzes them.In the transformation stage of the diagram-origin,the author summarizes and analyzes more than ten commonly-used diagram manipulations from three aspects: the relationship between the bottom of the diagrams,the relationship between the positions and the shape changes.In the process of transformation,the author selects material and structure as two aspects of,and summarizes the process of transformation from two-dimensional diagram to three-dimensional architecture.Through the analysis of the above three aspects,combined with the comparison with other diagram architects,the author summarizes the characteristics of Kazuyo Sejima’ Diagram Architecture into three points: simple and direct,accurate and subtle details,and the uncertainty of various directions,and rethinks the diagram design techniques to some extent,with a view to If we can learn what we can do,we can apply the knowledge and methods we gained to practice.
