Since Gallup Consulting started the research on employee engagement globally in 1980 s,employee engagement has become a popular topic for both consulting companies and scholars aboard.Considerable research has shown that employee engagement has direct impacts on the company performance indexes,which means improvement of employee engagement level will accelerate the company competition.While in China,such research is still under exploring,even rare on the blue collars.As the pillar industry in China,manufacturing industry has speed up the development of Chinese economy in the past 30 years.While,the global and national recession triggered by the financial crisis in 2008 has brought a big challenge to the manufacturing industry,the same to Company S in auto industry.It is urgently sought for state-of-art theory and research to provide practical guidance,and improvement of employee engagement is one of the most important topics to the management of Company S.The Article makes research on the engagement level of blue collars in Company S,based on Hewitt’s employee engagement model and questionnaire,as well as the company performance status.SPSS 19.0 and Amos 21.0 is used to analyze gender,age,education level,and service years of all the samples in questionnaire to elaborate the perception of blue collars on the driver factors of employee engagement.Finally,the author gives constructive actions plan to improve the employee engagement for the Company S through four aspects,which are compensation & benefits,performance assessment,career development and organizational communication.The Article tries to explore,a)the major drivers of engagement of blue collars;b)the actions plan of improving the employee engagement of blue collars in Company S,which gives reference on the further research of employee engagement of blue collars in China.
