The Ecological Thought In Dialectics Of Nature And Its Enlightenment To The Construction Of Ecological Civilization In China

The rapid development of the industrial revolution has enhanced human capacity to both utilize and change nature,but at the same time,it also exacerbated the contradiction between human beings and nature,making ecological problems more serious.Based on the social reality at that time,as well as criticizing and inheriting the thoughts of predecessors,Engels came up with some marvelous insights into many issues,such as the relationship between man and nature,the essence of the ecological crisis and the solution to it,and wrote the book Dialectics of Nature as well.Dialectics of Nature serves as not only a very important symbol of the maturity of Engels’ ecological thought,but also the self-improvement and development of Marxist ecological thought.Up to now,it remains a scientific text for the whole world to solve ecological and environmental problems.Since the reform and opening up,China has made outstanding achievements in economic development,while some ecological and environmental problems have also emerged.Fortunately,numerous scientific discussions in Dialectics of Nature can provide some reference for addressing the current domestic ecological crisis.Taking Dialectics of Nature as the research object,and employing three methods: text analysis,literature research and the combination of theory and practice,this paper tries to draw some inspiration from Dialectics of Nature to deal with China’s current ecological environmental problems and the construction of ecological civilization in China.This paper consists of three parts.The first part,focusing on the era of great strides forward in the industrial revolution and rapid development of natural science when Engels was involved in,together with a large quantity of theories and realities,states in detail the background of the ecological thought from both the theoretical origin and practical basis.The second part,based on the profound study of Dialectics of Nature itself,combs and summarizes Engels’ critical discussions on ecology and related issues,and then categorizes them into three aspects: the dialectical materialist view of nature,the dialectical relationship between man and nature from the perspective of philosophy,as well as causes and solutions to the ecological crisis,which lays down the overall framework of the main part of the ecological thought in Dialectics of Nature.The third part,with the research method of combining theory and practice,objectively examines the current situation of China’s ecological environment and the overall development of the construction of ecological civilization,and connects with the ecological thought in the Dialectics of Nature to sum up some enlightenment to the current construction of ecological civilization in China in the hope that scientific theory,to the greatest extent,contributes to practice.
