?Purpose? The development of animal husbandry in Xinjiang is restricted by the lack of forage grass.Feed rapeseed is a kind of forage with high yield and good quality. It can not only solve the problem of forage shortage, but also improve the utilization rate of land and increase farmers'income. At present, the farmlands planted feed rapeseed in Xinjiang is usually low-yielding,which limits the economic benefit of feed rapeseed. In this paper, three kinds of polymer soil conditioners were applied to explore the effects of polymer soil conditioners on the growth, enzyme activity, yield, quality and economic benefits of spring sown feed rapeseed and the re-sown feed rapeseed after wheat,so as to provide reference for the high-yield and efficient cultivation of feed rapeseed in Xinjiang.?Method?Field experiment with three types of macromolecule soil conditioner(P1,P2,P3)was conducted with the feed rapeseed variety"Huayouza 62"as experimental material, and the treatment without conditioner was taken as the control(CK).Yield and quality of spring sown feed rapeseed at the final flowering stage of the first crop, spring sown feed rapeseed at the full flowering stage of the second crop, and feed rapeseed-wheat cropping at the final flowering stage after wheat were determined, and economic benefits of soil conditioning effect under different feed rapeseed planting modes were analyzed.?Main Outcomes?(1)Soil conditioner could significantly increase the yield of feed rapeseed with a range of 24.18-46.67%.The increasing effect of different types of soil conditioner on the first crop of spring sown feed rapeseed, the second crop of spring sown feed rapeseed and the re-sown feed rapeseed after wheat were P1>P3>P2,and the fresh grass yield and hay yield of feed rapeseed under P1 treatment were 45.9t/hm2 and 9.7t/hm2,respectively.The contents of crude protein and crude lipid in feed rapeseed under P1 treatment were significantly increased, while the fiber content was significantly decreased, which enhanced the forage quality.(2)Compared with the control, different types of soil conditioner could significantly increase the dry matter accumulation of the spring sown feed rapeseed and the re-sown feed rapeseed after wheat cropping. The dry matter accumulation of feed rapeseed under P1 treatment reached the maximum at different growth stages, which increased by 25.62%(70 days after seedling emergence),19.79%(40 days after seedling emergence)and 39.94%(70 days after seedling emergence),respectively.(3)Soil conditioner has improved the activities of catalase, peroxidase and superoxide dismutase in the first crop and the second crop of the spring sowed feed rapeseed and the re-sown feed rapeseed after wheat, which enhanced the physiological activities of feed rapeseed.(4)Compared with the control, different types of soil conditioner significantly increased the annual economic benefit(11%-21%and 60%-67%)and ratio of production to investment(3.1-6.8%and 20%-22%)of spring sown feed rapeseed and re-sown feed rapeseed after wheat.Among them, the annual economic benefit and production to investment ratio of spring sown feed rapeseed and re-sown feed rapeseed after wheat under P1 treatment were the highest, which were15279 yuan/hm~2 and 14401 yuan/hm~2,1.73 and 1.89,respectively.?Conclusion?Application of macromolecule soil conditioner could enhance plant physiological activity, promote aboveground growth then obtain higher yield and quality under three patterns of feed rapeseed.Soil conditioner P1 had the best effect on improving the yield and annual economic benefit of spring sown feed rapeseed and the re-sown feed rapeseed after wheat. The annual economic benefit of feed rapeseed sown after wheat was better than that of feed rapeseed sown in spring.
