In recent years,various natural disasters,major traffic accidents and other emergencies have occurred frequently in China,causing serious losses of life and property to the people.Since maps can provide users with intuitive and reliable geospatial information through visualization methods,they play an important role in emergency management and have become an important content of my country's emergency surveying and mapping guarantee services.However,most of the current research on emergency maps is aimed at improving the efficiency of cartography,and mainly focuses on the related steps of traditional cartography,such as the symbols,data,templates,tools and methods of cartography,etc.,and less consideration of users' information on emergency maps.Processing efficiency makes it difficult for users to recognize and understand some maps in emergency situations.Starting from the perspective of emergency map cognition and combining the process of human visual information processing,this paper puts forward the design principles and methods of emergency map.The main research contents include:(1)Analyze the internal and external pressure sources that affect user map cognition in emergency situations,explore the cognitive characteristics of emergency maps,and based on the principle of human visual information processing,divide the cognitive process of emergency maps into visual perception and vision Three steps of information processing and cognitive output.(2)Put forward the emergency map design principles that take into account the visual information processing: the content of the map should be related to the theme,and the related content should be visually prominent.On this basis,the design principles of the emergency map have been established.(3)Based on the proposed emergency map design principles and methods,the urban fire rescue route map was designed,and the emergency map usability evaluation method was proposed.The visual saliency detection model and map response time experiment were used to complete the urban fire rescue route map.The usability evaluation fully verified the effectiveness of the emergency map design principles and methods.This article provides a complete set of solutions for the design of emergency maps and the establishment of an evaluation system,which is helpful to the further improvement of my country's emergency surveying and mapping guarantee service capabilities.The research results have certain theoretical and practical value.
