Abstract/Summary: | |
This study explored the effect on employee job satisfaction after a merger involving a for-profit and a non-profit company. This research utilized existing de-identified data; human subjects were not used. The research tool constructed for this study incorporated the questions from the for-profit employee satisfaction survey and categorized each question as a specific intrinsic or extrinsic factor according to Herzberg's Motivation-Hygiene Theory. This research determined any significant changes in job satisfaction for the employees from the for-profit company based on the motivators and hygiene factors comparing pre-merger to both 1 year and 2 years post merger. This study identified factors that needed to be considered during the merger process in order to maintain employee job satisfaction. |
