Abstract/Summary:
The media landscape continues to change rapidly, bringing both negative and positive consequence. The trend in the rise of game framing over issue framing and episodic framing over thematic framing is introduced to a new variable in the differing nature of new media. This paper highlights the potential shifts in framing in the political blogosphere. I find that the top blogs use issue framing more than game framing, reversing a trend in traditional media for increased game framing. In addition, thematic framing shows resurgence in the blogosphere, while traditional media continues to see more episodic framing.
