"Trial-operation" is an important stage after C Bank completes a major upgrade of the system. To ensure that the new system are running normally,a test group will verify the new functions by simulating the bank employees and customers while in trial-operation,and all the defects will be solved by the software engineers.Due to the continuous expansion of the banking system of C Bank, the number of defects in trial-operation were greatly increased. The original defect management process were unable to meet the current management requirements since the defect processing cycle were too long, while trial-operation were unable to complete as planned, brought risks such as lower customer satisfaction or corporate reputation crisis. To shorten the defect processing cycle of C bank's trial-operation,we use the Six Sigma DMAIC method and tools such as Ishikawa map, value flow chart,FMEA,Pareto chart,to identify the key issues existing in the defect management process. With an in-depth analysis, targeted improvement plans for the process are developed, and finally the improved process has been applied to the C Bank's trial-operation.The final result shows that the process of defect management in trial-operation of C Bank were effectively improved by using the Six Sigma DMAIC method, since the defect processing cycle has been significantly shortened and the expected goal has been reached.By taking the improvement of defect management process in trial-operation of C Bank as an example,we study the application of Six Sigma method in the field of banks' trial-operation,which has certain application innovation and can be used as reference for other banks or related enterprises.
