Research On The Construction Of National Memory In Hong Kong "Ta Kung Pao"

In recent years,as the phenomenon of Hong Kong people's memory of national history and culture has become increasingly prominent,the issue of national memory construction of Hong Kong people not only affects the political,economic,and cultural exchanges and development between the mainland and Hong Kong,but also involves Going to many areas of the Mainland and Hong Kong has become an important focus of national significance construction.Under such a social background,the construction of national memory by mainstream newspapers in Hong Kong not only affects Hong Kong people's perception of China's politics,economy,history and culture,but also affects the formation of Hong Kong people's memory of national politics,history and culture.The paper is based on the national memory of Hong Kong's mainstream newspaper,Ta Kung Pao,which is regarded as the "leader of public opinion" in Hong Kong.It uses the National Day report from 1984 to 2018 as a research sample,using content analysis,text analysis and The framework analysis method studies the construction characteristics and methods of national memory,and discusses the problems existing in the process of constructing national memory and the countermeasures for national memory reconstruction in response to existing problems.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly includes the research background,literature review(including research on the narrative text of national memory,research on Hong Kong and Taiwan media and national memory,and media reproduction research on National Day)and research issues and methods.The second chapter is the research process,which is the analysis of the content of the Ta Kung Pao National Day report text.The third chapter mainly analyzes 112 articles in the Ta Kung Pao period from 1984 to 2018,and tries to depict the outline of the rhetoric of the Ta Kung Pao National Day commentary,and then recognizes the different historical backgrounds from the time dimension.The historical difference in the evolution of the Ta Kung Pao commentary.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the theme framework in the National Day report text of Ta Kung Pao,and analyzes the characteristics and reasons of its memory construction.The fifth chapter is the conclusion of the study,which mainly summarizes the problems existing in the process of constructing the memory of Ta Kung Pao.Finally,we will address the existing problems and propose solutions.Through the analysis of the number of National Day reports,the coverage of the report,the topic of the report,the source of the report,the form of the report,and the occupation/identity and the type of the report,the genre of the report and the form of the report,it is found that the number of reports on the National Day of Ta Kung Pao is uneven,and the number is fluctuating.It presents a certain periodicity;the layout is mainly distributed in important layouts;the theme of the report is diversified,and the theme of political and economic reports is highlighted;the source of the report is more concerned with local readers and the market,and the proportion of domestic authoritative media is heavier;Text reports are the mainstay,and text plus images are common forms after 2004.In addition,the issue of commentary that Ta Kung Pao has focused on in different eras is different,mainly based on political issues(1984-1996),and the issue of national unity and economic construction(1997-2003)presents the theme of ideological and cultural spirit.Paying attention to(2004-2008),and finally presenting the "return" narrative mode based on the issue of national unity(2009-2018).In order to further study the reporting framework of the memory construction of Ta Kung Pao,using the framework analysis of the meso level and the keyword analysis at the micro level,it is found that the reporting framework highlighted by Ta Kung Pao in the process of national memory construction has a political identity framework and a national historical framework.,economic development framework and cultural identity framework.Among them,the political identity framework constructs memory from political rights and political discourse;the national historical framework constructs memory from ritual discourse;the economic development framework constructs memory from the perspective of interest and cultural identity framework constructs memory from individual practice.The reasons for these memory characteristics can be explained from the perspectives of politics,history,economy,culture and social environment.Based on the above results of content analysis,text analysis and framework analysis,the study found that Ta Kung Pao has problems in the process of constructing national memory in the three aspects of national memory and Hong Kong local connection,national memory and current connection,and memory construction under the new media ecology.The author proposes a fusion of horizons,innovative reporting frameworks,and solutions to diversified memory narratives.At present,the phenomenon of Hong Kong people's memory of Chinese history and the memory of culture has attracted the attention of the mainland and Hong Kong.Therefore,this paper focuses on the way in which the mainstream newspaper "Ta Kung Pao" in Hong Kong constructs the memory of the country has great practical significance.At the same time,the thesis proposes countermeasures for the problems of national memory construction,not only provides a case for reference to mainstream newspapers in Hong Kong,but also enriches and perfects the study of current domestic memory.
