In this paper,we design a workpiece counting management system based on Ethernet communication for automobile special-shaped pipe production enterprises.The system consists of an industrial control computer and two weighing instruments.The two includes one large size and one small size.The small scale has a small range,but it has high accuracy and is used for sampling the average weight of the pipe.The large range is used for the weighing and counting of bulk pipe fittings.The industrial computer controls the operation of two weighing instruments through Ethernet communication.The industrial computer extracts the small-weighed weighing value and calculates the average weight of the pipe fittings when the operator puts a fixed number of pipe fittings on the small scale.Then the operator places a large number of the same pipe fittings into the large scale.The industrial computer extracts the weighing scales.The value of the pipe is calculated based on the average value obtained from the small scale.The data in the counting process is stored in the SQL Server database for query and traceability.This project focuses on the following aspects.(1)The paper introduces the performance and operation of METTLER TOLEDO intelligent electronic scales,mainly introduces the characteristics of the weighing instrument IND245 and the characteristics of the load cell SBC,including its basic performance,hardware configuration,supported communication methods,and its own weighing software system.(2)Based on the TCP/IP protocol and FTP protocol of Ethernet communication,the communication program of the industrial computer and weighing instrument was designed.Ethernet communication has been widely used in the industrial field and has become the mainstream communication method in industrial automation networks.METTLER TOLEDO IND245 weighing instrument supports Ethernet communication,uses Visual Basic programming on the instrument completes,sets the properties and methods of Winsock Ethernet communication control,designs FTP server-side program,realizes the communication between industrial computer and two weighing instruments,completes the weighing data transmission from the weighing instrument to the industrial computer.(3)The count management system is designed on the industrial computer using Visual Basic and SQL Server database.The industrial control computer obtains the weighing data of the weighing instrument,calculates the average weight of the fittings and the number of fittings,and stores the data into the SQL Server database.The industrial control computer configures the client's data source and the SQL Server Configuration Manager of the SQL Server database in the server.It uses the ADO for database connection control and the DataGrid control for database display to program.The system can query and modify the database and control the zebra printer to complete the label printing.After designing,programming,experiment and debugging,the system has been successfully used in the actual production process of Qingdao Rubber Co.,Ltd.which produces automobile parts and components,It effectively overcomes the low efficiency,inaccurate statistics of the original manual counting method and the inconvenience of historical data querying.The system has been used in operation for one and a half years at the site.The actual use shows that the system is reliable,efficient,and fully functional.It can be used in the same production process.
